Title: How do you find time for new recipes?
Post by: sue_h on December 27, 2010, 12:21:39 am
:)Just wondering how everyone finds time for new recipes on this forum. I keep finding so many good ones that people have posted that I'm finding that I would rather try your version than convert my own.  I love the recipes and there's always one for something that the family feels like for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. This really is one of the best forums for all types of cooking and we're really loving the natural cooking approach. Thanks everyone. Maybe in a year or 2 I'll have worked through your recipes and will convert my own.  ;D

It's probably impossible to do all the recipes we want to as there are always new ones being added to the list.  I haven't converted anything for a while for that very reason - did it originally because there were not a lot of recipes around that I fancied but times have changed.  Mind you, I still have a folder full of recipes to convert but doubt many will see the light of day.
I'm not complaining either  ;) ;) :D :D

No complaints from me either.

Sometimes I go to convert something only to find someone has already done the job for me.  I am not complaining.   greetings from cold Hobart in Tasmania.

Hi back from 40+ Perth. I envy you being able to see the end of the Sydney to Hobart. I'll get there one day.

Oh Karen, you'll just have to see if DH will get on board and make one new thing every Friday night or something like that!

I try new things on the weekend usually. I have a display book that I put all the recipes in that I want to try. If they work and I like them, the recipe gets transferred to one of my regular recipe display books.

That sounds really organised, and I assure you, I'm NOT organised!

Are you going to the Taste Chookie?  It sounds really wonderful this year and I wish I could get down there to do some tasting!  ;D

There are never enough hours in the day to do all the recipes I'd like to (even saving the amount of time I do with Thermie).

On the upside, I bought my DS9 the Junior Masterchef cookbook for christmas and to my stunned amazement, he wants to cook everything in sight! I dont think it will be long before he's cooking full meals on his own. He's always pottered in the kitchen with me but all of a sudden he's taken off.  Tomorrow night he wants to try Garlic Prawns! Who am I to stand in his way?

Yippee!

I bought that book today Jodi to put with my very soon to be 6 year old grand-daughters birthday present.  She loved watching the Masterchef series and likes to cook with me whenever she gets the opportunity so I'm hoping she will appreciate it.

It's a great book Judy. Really easy recipes that even I can do!  :D

Last night he made spaghetti carbonara which was delicious and he made the potato wedges for lunch yesterday. Simple stuff - just the way we like it!

Sounds like a wonderful book to give my son and his partner who've just moved in together. Both love their food and he's pretty capable, but she's not a cook, though she's gorgeous in every other way!!

Highly recommend it MJ. It's cheapest at Big W, only about $14.98. You can pay up to $20 anywhere else.
