...in your TMX? For example, I have one friend who mostly just bakes in hers because they're a meat and veg type family. Another fr4end loves milling all her own spices and flours etc. Another uses hers for everything except bread and butter still preferring to buy them. So I was just wondering how each person uses their TMX and why. I've enjoyed making bread but don't think I will keep doing it.....I eat waaaaay too much bread if it's homemade!! :)

I do absolutely everything in it and if I don't get to make it I refuse to buy it and we just don't have it til it's made in Thermie. eg. bread. If you make 'home made' all the time the novelty really does wear off. ;)

I haven't been successful in whipping egg whites, although I do intend to try again with the instructions in the calendar. I only make some cakes in it as others are better made in the traditional way. I also only do 2/3/4 main meals in it during the week. We usually have at lest one roast and one type of quiche each week. Otherwise it gets used for everything from chopping up a single onion to the full meal.

I don't think the machine gets hot enough, or provides enough space, to really brown things off so I will do so in the frying pan.
Unlike a lot of people, I still enjoy occasionally cooking on the stove as I feel I am more connected with the food if I am stirring it rather than the machine. Daft I know, and it doesn't mean I don't absolutely love the Thermomix but I like the choice of where and how I cook things.

The main things I don't do in the TMX are things that don't fit- seafood chowder and my chicken soup.

i don't make bread often because i worry about cross contamination with regular bread & our gluten free family member/s
and well, i just can't be bothered lol

I use mine usually a minimum of 5 times a day. If it's not making a main meal then it's helping to put something together for that meal. I have not ever had sucess with egg whits and think I will do what zebraa does and buy myself a cheap electric beater. I go through stages of bread making - really depends on how busy I am, but recently have discovered cyndi's cinnamaon scolls, but don't want to get addicted to these as they are very yum. I try to make something new in my TM every 1-2 weeks so I don't fall into a rut of making the same old same old, but again that depends on how busy I am. :D

I'm like cookie and earthmumma. I LOVE grinding and I use it for breakfasts - smoothies, eggs, porridges, I love it for stocks, jams, bread, salads. Basically I use it for everything except egg whites and cream. Haven't make butter yet. Need to use my varoma more.

just egg whites, but I am sure if I can overcome my fear of wasting eggs it could 'maybe' work...

What is it about the cream you don't like Z?

Going to try this post again as posted but lost it in the last forum crash.
I don't do fried or scrambled eggs. I don't do icecream (though I do sometimes make the ingredients in the tmx). We still eat roast and bbq steak etc once a week or so.
Do make most of our bread (though do have super busy lazy weeks), make some of our tortillas. Don't make butter (we never have cream on special around here).
I often use a rice cooker or stovetop for pasta etc whilst cooking a sauce in the TMX, time is of an essence so I can cook them at the same time (though I love tmx rice). Maybe I need a second tmx, lol.
Cheddar cheese - sometimes I grate it in the TMX, sometimes by hand. Such a different texture. I prefer by hand, dd1 by tmx.

I enjoy cooking at the stovetop too. I find it rather relaxing (or I did before the kidlets came along). :)
