Title: Passionfruit Slice
Post by: meganjane on November 28, 2010, 12:59:09 pm
I got this recipe from Twitter. Leigh Sales, an Aussie journalist posted it. Very simple and very yummy!

Passionfruit Slice

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

Place in  *: :

1 cup SR Flour ( I used plain flour with 1.5 tsp baking powder)
1 cup dessicated coconut
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
115g melted butter (I melt it in the microwave)

Mix on  :: until mixture comes together.

Press into a lined 28cm x 18cm slice tin and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 1/2 an hour.

Mix together:
395ml tin of condensed milk
pulp of 2 passionfruit
juice of 2 lemons (rind would be nice to add too)

Turn oven on to 150 degrees C

Spread over topping over base and bake for 10 - 15 minutes. Cool and slice.

Cookie - It was lovely.

thermo18 - it is so yummy another one that's going to be made more than once.

Dede - Just finished this slice, smells so good and the passion fruit topping tasted so yummy. Can't wait to try a slice once it's cooled and I can slice it. This slice is so nice MJ, yum.

JD - Thanks for posting this easy and tasty recipe MJ.  I love the crunchiness of the base and the contrasting smoothness of the topping.

Uni - I made this with homemade condensed milk.

JuliaC83 - Very tasty and easy to make. Baked 2 and have put one in the freezer for when we have unexpected visitors ... or the kids get hungry.

Oh that book is actually on my cook book wish list (along with many others)!  She is the CWA lady from Cudal who was on Masterchef.

I just bought the CWA cookbook Jam drops and marble Cakes this week.

Sorry MeganJane, but what do you do with the base ingredients after you have added to the TM bowl? I'm a newbie to the TMX world and still finding my way.

Thanks
mep  :)
