Title: Canadian Newbie (BC)
Post by: artsyshell on November 23, 2010, 07:37:16 pm
Hi all. Just bought my thermomix on Sunday. Have made risotto and bread with it already, and am totally loving it. Looking forward to trying many recipes from this forum and getting to know all of you.
I bought my machine without a demo, though I did watch some on youtube.
I am a major foodie, who loves to cook, and loves food!
I am a gadget aholic, I will admit, though I do  find I tend to use most of them :)
I am lucky enough to be working in a gourmet food store, so I get to watch some amazing chefs at work, as well as have access to some premium ingredients to cook with.

I also bought mine sight unseen and am now a consultant!! Love it and don't understand when folk don't "get it" immediately.
Enjoy and love converting every recipe!

Hi and welcome to the forum artsyshell. It sounds as though you are already enjoying your TM although you have it only 2 days. What fun working in a gourmet food store and watching chefs work.Do they use the Thermomix as well?

Thanks Shayla! When I picked mine up the distributor hoped I might like to become a consultant down the road, as there aren't any in my area. We'll see how fast I learn at using it. Looking forward to learning how to convert recipes as well.

Thanks Cornish Cream. It is great fun, and no they don't use one yet. Maybe I can convert them :)

Welcome!!!
Best of luck with your new best friend! The breads are incredible, and i definately recommend you try some of isi's posts on this forum. Her portugese rolls are heaven. I'm sure you will love the forum as pretty much everyone on here is a food and gadget lover as well!
Happy cooking!

Hi artyshell, welcome to the forum.  You will find it handy working in a gourmet food store - you won't have to run around chasing ingredients as they should be right on your doorstep shelves. A lover of food & gadgets - you will fit in here nicely  ;) ;)

Welcome!  You will love it here.  Everyone is great here.  I am a BCer myself.  I have had my TMX for a year now and use it almost every day.  I know that A LOT of the high end restaurants in Vancouver all have one.  : )
