Title: Dinner party recipes wanted
Post by: dgg9879 on November 04, 2010, 08:08:53 am
I would please like some suggestions for good dinner party recipes from the Indian TM cookbook and any suggestions for good chocolate dessert recipes also for a dinner party.

Thanks.

For dessert, make Isi's coffee cream.  (I think that is what she calls it)   You can replace the coffee with chocolate or try my cold chocolate dessert.  Both can be made several days in advance.  I make both when we have visitors and offer a choice. be warned!!! some have both. ;D ;D ;D ;D   If your visitors were all women,  then I would suggest Lemon Feather Cake.   This is made with potato flour and is GF.

The salmon tikka dinner page 90 is really nice, I loved the Thai fusion chicken pataya on page 105 and the Butter Chicken on page 120 is really nice too.  Check out what others thought of different Indian recipes in the review section of the forum ddg9879 for a few more ideas.

My DH and DS absolutely love the Bombay Aloo page 92.We love the Butter Chicken page 120, Cashew Chicken page 78,Lamb with Mushrooms page 80.I did try the Tarka Dahl on page 82, hum...... the jury is out on that one!I think the recipe needs tweaking because at stage 5 the speed is far too fierce because after 2 minutes I had to slow it right down but it still ended up as liquid mush.l left it overnight and it did thicken up but it was very very tasty.Oh! the Chick Pea Curry page 97 is very good. :)

Meganjane did an Indian dinner party a while ago. I'll see if I can find it and post the link.
This may be of some help.http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2680.0
