I am so excited. I have ordered my theromomix and with baited breath wait its arrival. I have contemplated this purchase for over a year (wonderful, patient consultant). I am a real foodie and amongst many comments I was told as such I would miss the mechanics of preparation. Now I want the experience of great food in the most easiest possible way.....cant wait and look forward to looking up many special recipes shared by others. Wahooo.....

Glad you finally took the plunge Audrey, welcome to the forum. We all love cooking but if we can do it faster, it leaves us more time to do other things that we also enjoy - the best of both worlds.
-
Welcome Audrey. I don't think you will miss the mechanics of preparation that much. They will just be new and different mechanics and you'll be making more. HOw long until you receive your machine?
-
Welcome Audrey61,
If you miss the mechanics of cooking you can always do it by hand once a week ;) ;D
-
I love cooking too and this machine has only made me more enthusiastic! I've had mine 2 weeks almost and have started making all our bread, gone crazy at the organic supermarket buying seeds and grains then off to the Indian grocer for spices! WOW! I certainly don't miss chopping onions etc and have successfully made things which I wouldn't have bothered trying before( or had failed miserably at- Gnocchi for example)
So go for it and you will be keener to cook than ever before I think.

Welcome audrey - all good things come to those who wait. We hope you find this forum helpful and inspiring. We also look forward to trying out any converted recipes once you settle in :)
-
Welcome hope your wait isn't too long.
Think of how much more you'll be able to cook. And hey if you really want to chop and onion then you always still can.
-
wooohoooo tomorrow....the awaited arrival! wow everyone I have to be honest I have been checking all day and was so disappointed not to have any replies...but then when I worked out how to check how properly! ;D WOW Thank you all so much for your replies...I look forward to sharing and creating culinary masterpieces....think I may already be over the onions :) have a fabulous night everyone...P.S I am in Perth

Hi Audrey,
Congratulations! I too was a "cook from scratch the old fashioned way" girl but I don't miss the old ways one bit. In fact, I cook SOOOOO much more now than ever and I am still cooking from scratch but in a different way.
I've only had my TM for 2 weeks so I'm not too far ahead of you.
I'm in Perth too! Where abouts are you? I'm in Alexander Heights.
Good luck and have lots of fun! Don't be scared and if you have any troubles at all, jump on here so the girls can help solve them. And we want to hear all your successes too!
;D

Welcome Audrey - great to have you on board. Sure you'll have a great time here, if you can drag yourself away from the TMX

heyJodi...this has absolutely nothing to do with Thermo..which Bunnings do you work at and what do you do? Partner thinks we have come across each previously. Ciao Bella,
audrey

I'm at Malaga Bunnings. I've worked in the paint dept for the last 2 years. I'm moving to a different dept at the moment. I'm in limbo a bit. Not sure which one I'm transferring too but I'm on the floor still, just all over the place.
No doubt we have crossed paths. I find that often with a lot of my customers. It's such a small world. :)
Good luck with your daughters 21st too!
