When I made this the first time I wasn't that impressed - I think because the tuna was too "mashed" for my taste. Tonight I made it with a couple of tiny changes. I added 3 measuring cups full of frozen baby peas just after I started cooking the pasta, and didn't add the tuna until 2 minutes before the end of cooking time. The tuna stayed in large chunks and the meal was very nice - I much preferred this slight variation.

Nice Marilyn, this is my 15yo's favourite recipe when it's his turn to cook! ;D
Last night I added baby spinach to it and other than a few whinges (my 5yo thinking it was basil.. ;)), it worked out wonderfully. :)

I make this my winter rainbow dish. I add fresh beetroot and carrot at the start (blitz them) so it is pink at the end. Then I sprinkle chopped herbs (basil/parsley/lebanese cress) over it to serve and then the parmesan/lemon rind mix in a circle at the top. It is a bright, easy healthy dish and I love it! (My husband doesn't like the pasta mixed in so I am going to tweak the sauce a bit so it is good as just a sauce).

Thanks for the tweeks. I really must add this to my menu one week. There is so much to try and only 7 main meals a week. :'(

This was the first main I made in my brand new TM. (Just last night). I was rather heavy handed with the stock concentrate. The first time I'd used that too. So our dish turned out very salty. My hubby loved it. Almost licked the plate and had left overs for lunch. My eldest son liked it but the little one wouldn't even taste it. He just cried.
I like the idea of adding some other vegies to it. Might add some colour to it. Not so much of the same colour.
I haven't scratched this off the menu yet. I think I just need to tweek it a bit more.

I made this recipe a little while ago, and although it tasted great and the kids loved it, the pasta got quite mashed up and it ended up a bit gluggy- I used pasta bows, and followed the recipe exactly.
Any ideas what I did wrong?? Or does the pasta always get a bit mashed up when you cook it in the TMX?
But the recipe certainly was very tasty, and I would like to try it again.

Karen, I used penne pasta and in fact I cooked it a little longer than suggested to ensure it was cooked but penne does seem to be a thick pasta than the bows.
Maybe try the penne next time.

I use penne and cook for 2 mins less and check. I do agree it can be a bit mushy (but I love mush!). I am going to do it this week with olives and lemon and fetta as well as the beetroot all in the mix and see how it turns out.

Bows are usually quite thin and cook quickly. I have seen them used in pasta bake recipes where the pasta isn't precooked for that reason. :)

I know this is a really old thread but this is such a tasty, quick and easy meal. We all love it. And it's on the table in less than half an hour with very little mess-just the TMX bowl to rinse. Although we have had many variations of this using different vegetables (peas, spinach for example) this is our favourite variation:
Skip the lemon zest (often I've used it for EDC rockcakes anyway ;D) I always have grated parmesan on hand in the freezer.
Add a small onion with the garlic. Halve the oil.
Add 50g water extra instead of the wine. I only add a teaspoon of stock concentrate.
Add a couple of handfuls of small broccoli flowerets with the tuna. I use tuna in springwater (drained) and organic wholemeal pasta spirals or penne.
Serve with parmesan and don't forget the lemon wedges to squeeze over the top (essential IMHO). Also freshly ground black pepper if you like.
I was surprised there weren't more reviews for this so I thought I'd give it a mention. If you add some greens, this is a simple, budget friendly family meal made in a flash and reasonably healthy too. Forgot to mention that it is tasty and the teens love it :)

This is also a family favourite in our house, but I need to go easy on the lemon. And peas make a great addition. It's so quick as well as delicious I can't resist making it whenever I am feeling a bit uncreative. :)

MJ i made hollandaise sauce from the EDC a week ago to drizzle over a pizza, it was fantastic.
