Thanks Meagan - might have to hunt around for a copy :-* :-* :-*
-
Hi Meagan, do you know the selling price yet?
Julie.
-
Dear Julie
We are selling at RM75.00 in Malaysia.
-
Oh I'd love this one.
-
My consultant has a copy which she let me have a look at. The dishes are really traditional and nothing like what we are used to as"Malaysian". Quite different, but if you've exhausted all the other cookbooks, I guess you could have a ll at it.
-
Hi everyone, can you please tell me where I can get a copy of this recipe book?
Thanks so much!
-
I happened to get a look at this book last week and was quite impressed with it - it is in Malay and English and had pictures with every recipe. Lots of cake, biscuit recipes as well as mains and ingredients that we are quite likely to have in our cupboards. I emailed UK TMX and they have never heard of it so I will also be interested in the best place to source this book.

Hi Sew chin.
is the book in English? Any pics/details we can look at? How can the book be purchased by people not living in Malaysia?
thanks.
-
Wish I had seen this post earlier I was in Malaysia a month ago.
-
All these recipes sound amazing and as Malaysian is my hands down favourite cuisine I'm going to have to source out somewhere in Canada to get a copy.
Anyone have any feedback on the recipes?
Judydawn, since you said that there's a picture with every recipe, is this book published by Vorwerk?
I'm curious about the peanut powder and the Japanese cheesecake -- although these don't sound specifically Malaysian though. :)
-
Vanillabean, I'm not sure if Vorwerk put it out or not. The book seemed very Westernised to me, not really that traditional to Malaysia, which is probably why I liked the look of it so much. I can find out the answer but it may take me a while to get back on that one.
-
Hi Vanillabean, Have just checked out my copy of the Malaysian book. It's been published by TrueMix in Malaysia. Here is their email address enquiry@truemix-malaysia.com
I fell that it's been put out my the Malaysian distributors. I haven't had any time yet to try out anything but reallly like the layout of the book - everything is easy to understand.
Hope this helps
-
Trudy to the rescue ;) - thanks a lot :-*
-
Yes, thank you so much for this, Trudy! :-*
I'll contact them and find out how much the damage postage to me will be. :D
-
HI it is in English and chinese. :o
-
hi Judy
It is in English and Chinese. The price is RGT 75 excluding postage and yes if you got anyone in Malaysia you can ask her to buy from me and my phone no +60196638288. I dont mind helping you to get one and will try to find out the postage to Australia if you want to know the cost.
We have a combination of all the recepi western and also Malaysia and Chinese food.
-
That converts to $22.95 Australian dollars by my reckoning sew chin plus postage. If you can give me an amount which includes postage I will certainly order one through you thanks very much.
-
Dear Judy
Will ask about the postage tomorrow ok
tks
-
Thank you sew chin.
-
JD Did you manage to get this cookbook? I am interested in tracking one down. They sound interesting.
-
No Bootobethin, sew chin didn't get back to me after her last comment of finding out how much the postage costs would be.
-
Does anyone still want it? It's now RM85.00 because they updated it with a few more recipes. I have the edition (prior to update), and it is not very detailed, like the EDC. So, if you aren't familiar with Malaysian food, you might end up with a completely different dish if you follow the recipe, word for word.
PM me if anyone is interested.
-
heh.
sounds interesting. Having an updated and detailed book is always good. How much is postage to the UK? And how would payment be made?
Phil.
-
That's nice of you to offer chinsk and welcome to the forum with your first posting too. I have changed my mind about getting one now though thanks.
-
Have just ordered this book directly from True Mix in Malaysia. The current price (as of December, 2011) of the Malaysian Cookbook is RM85 (approx AU$27) and the air parcel postage to Australia is RM37.50. (approx AU$11.90) Either email them at enquiry@truemix-malaysia.com or phone them on 603 - 78049326 They recommend credit card payment as the easiest way and that the delivery address be emailed to avoid any errors.
Thanks Meagan. Looks really great -appreciate your trouble in listing the contents.
