Hi guys
I am a mum of two and live in Adelaide (Mitcham Hills) and have been an excited owner of a TMX for just over two weeks.
Although very popular where I was born (Italy), I only heard of TMX and thought it was just a blender/food processor :-))
Until I bumped into an owner here in Adelaide and it was love at first sight!!
We are nearing the end of our kitchen renovation and my new steam injected oven should assist me in going back into baking artisan style sourdough breads, my main culinary passion.
I emigrated to South Australia last year and in the process I had to let go of my beloved sourdough starter (could have dehydrated and shipped to myself but decided not to tempt fate with AQIS :'()
I would love to get in touch with the local TMX crowd and to find a donor of a good sourdough starter to get me back baking!
Have a good day everyone :D

welcome hestonfan - it sounds like a match made in heaven (only joking, I know what you meant). Look forward to hearing all about your culinery conversions when you are ready. Sounds like you are really into your breadmaking in a big way ;D and there are lots of tried and true recipes here.

Hi Hestonfan, welcome to South Australia and to our forum. Chookie is our sourdough specialist on this forum and I have some of her culture if you would like to try it. I live a long way from you though, down Port Adelaide/Outer Harbour way at North Haven and you may be able to get it from someone closer to where you live. The offer is there though, just pm me if you want to take it further and we will see what we can work out.

Hi Judy :D :D
Thank you for the offer! :-* :-* Is your starter active currently- ie are you baking from it?
I would love to meet you anyway - if Semaphore/Henley Beach is good for for you, then I will definitely buy you cake and coffee!
Cheers
Gabry ;D

Sorry Judy... was supposed to PM you :-)) :-)) :-[

Hi Hestonfan and welcome to the forum. It sounds as though you are going to have great time cooking with the TM in your new kitchen.Won't it be wonderful if you can get Chookies (the guru of breadmaking) sourdough starter via Judy (forum member extraordinaire) ;) Have fun when when the sourdough is introduced to the TM ;D

Thank you for the welcome messages :-*
The oven still not connected and spent afternoon planting citrus plants Hopefully that day is approaching ;) I have to be more disciplined about eating bread though- my DH and I would work through a 3 kg boule in 2 days :o
-
Welcome Hestonfan. I am envious of you accessing chookies sourdough starter (and meeting JD). Sourdough is on my to try list but a serious lack of time has prevented me from getting to any classes and lack of confidence stops me starting my own.
Hope your renos are finished soon - would love to hear more about your steam injected oven.

Welcome Hestonfan.

Welcome Hestonfan. Something has been happening with my computer as I am certain that I had posted here.
Do you parli Italiano? There are loads of recipes in Italian.

Grazie,ho gia visto il sito Bimby con le ricette fotografate e ho scaricato tutti i libri in spagnolo e francese!

Spero che we don't lose you know that I have told you about the Italian sites. The http://bimby.mastertopforum.com/index.php (http://bimby.mastertopforum.com/index.php) site is great.
It may be good to join & contact Miriam - you would be a better moderator than me for the English recipes :-* :-* :-*

Hi Thermomixer
I just joined the Bimbylandia website and got an instant reply from Miriam :o
It looks like there are some serious posters there! Not quite sure about the moderating though- for as much as I would love having the time to do that- I have to find the time to cook as well as ;)
Thanks again for letting me know about it- a daily exposure to my mother tongue can only do me good! :-*

It is a great resource - especially for someone with a better grasp of the lingo.
Miriam is fantastic - love her.
There are some serious posters of recipes and news.
Only problem - WHERE do you start?
