Welcome to this wonderful site Geo.   I'll bet you'll have trouble sleeping tonight  ;)

I think a risotto is a good thing to try as a first recipe in the machine (but do remember to use  :-: after you've added the rice, else it becomes quite mushy).

I'm sure others will come up with different suggestions.    Whatever you cook, I hope it's delicious.

Welcome,

My 1st meal I cooked was lentil and sweet potatoe soup (mill red lentils 100g) 1x Sweet Potatoe, 1x clove garlic, onion and a carrot and 1trs of water and vegatable stock (perhaps make the veggie stock 1st LOL) thermoserver the soup and get onto main course..

Tuna and Pasta from the EDC..

you could even kick it of with sweets.

after dinner make your egg mayo and 1st homemade butter (add some salt)

Welcome in advance to my wonderful world.

Rod

Hi Geo, welcome to the forum.  It depends on whether you want to go for something easy like soup and custard or really get stuck into it and go for something more complicated (but still easy)  Our most popular recipe here on the forum is this one  -http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1063.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1063.0), there are 5 pages of reviews and comments for you to browse through.  The soups on the forum seem to get better reviews than the Everyday Cookbook which comes with your machine and of course the risotto is easy too if you like that type of meal.  Hopefully you have been browsing the forum whilst you have been waiting for your delivery and have an idea of some things you would like to try.  You will need to make the vegetable stock concentrate fairly early on as a lot of recipes have that in the list of ingredients.  Good luck with your first efforts, come back and let us know how you are going.

Hi Geo. My first food was the vegie stock so that I could make soups and risottos. I felt that was pretty fool proof for me.

Geo if your family loved the Shepherds Pie, try the Lasagne - I made this for the first time using home-made mince with chuck steak that was on special at the supermarket --- 5/5 (why haven't I used the Bolognaise Recipe before  ??? its the best)
