Title: Orange butter/curd instead of lemon?

Hi
I am making a sponge cake tomorrow and I was wondering about making orange curd instead of lemon as I have lots of oranges.  It should still work shouldn't it?  I'm assuming it would taste nice in the middle of the sponges with some whipped cream.  YUM!

After reading through this topic, I then went to a folder that I have with some original recipes in and the lemon curd recipe is slightly different but I worked out that you need approx 75g of juice.I hope this works well substituting zest and juice of an orange.

We love Curd here so have made a few different varieties.

I found that you still need to add some lemon juice for its acidity and tang that orange juice just doesn't have.  Try substituting half the lemon juice for orange juice and using orange zest instead of lemon.

Mandarin and Lemon curd is also really nice.

Thanks foodiepep.  I haven't made any orange curd, but think half & half sounds the way to go.  :-* :-* :-*
