Title: Easy Traybake?
Post by: CarolineW on July 06, 2010, 11:16:37 pm
Hi Everyone,
I need some inspiration for something quick and easy to make for 17 children and 2 teachers to celebrate the end of term (on Friday).  It's tradition that I make them buns on the last day of term.  I thought it seemed like a bit too much hassle to do buns (cup cakes) this time, but thought a traybake would do the trick.  And then failed completely to have any inspiration as to what to make as a traybake.

So I'm hoping my trusty TMX friends can help me out  :-*

I made the almond and cherry cake recipe from the Fast and Easy Cookery book, I didn't tamper with the ingredients but there was that much I put it into a large roasting tray and it adequately filled it.

Tastes delicious too.

You could always do the bimby chocolate cake recipe, traybake it and then smother in icing and sprinkles.

Or the marsbar and rice krispies recipe, super fast, super easy and super yumptious, maybe drizzle white chocolate on top for a contrast?

Yep - that would be my pick - Bimby slab cake. Easy pesy and will take just as long for them to gobble up!  ;)

Thanks everyone  :-* :-*

I'm going to try the brownie one tonight, Judie.  That way if it's too nice small, I can do the almond and cherry recommendation by Mali.

We had SOOOOO much chocolate Bimby cake left to eat for months after Esther's birthday (due to practise cake and then actual enormous cake) that I'm not sure I could face meeting up again with it quite yet  :D  (note to self: If ever making a treasure chest cake again, make it much smaller!)

farfallina has just posted a pizza recipe (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3912.0) that would be a good dish to cut up for a classroom of hungry kids
