M & M Choc Chip Cookies
Ingredients
125g unsalted butter
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cups SR flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup choc bits
3/4 cup M & M's
Method
I place all the ingredients except the choc chips and M & M's into the bowl. Mix on about speed 3 until mixed.
Add choc chips and M & M's and mix on reverse until they are incorporated. Shape into balls.
Place on a greased tray and bake at 1800 for 10-12 minutes.
Cool for 5 minutes on trays and then on wire rack.
Tweaking
I didn't write down any notes when I made these so the mixing could be a little out. It is hard to mix the choc chips and M & M's in well so after mixing you may need to remove the bowl and give it a stir with the spatula to fully incorporate them.

Kimberley - These are the perfect cookie. Not a biscuit but a cookie. Soft, gooey chewy, and oh so sweet. Definitely a special treat, these were gone in a flash! This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thanks!
Denzelmum - My DD is so excited to find this rainbow biscuit! Yum.... I made about 18 cookies.
Obbie - Yum, I made these today for the kids, so easy and yummy.
Amy - When I made my first batch of these, I did as instructed in the recipe and put everything except the choc chips and M&M's in TM and mixed on speed 3 but my butter was still in huge chunks and I ended up mixing and kneading for several minutes to get the dough smooth. In my second batch, I creamed the butter and sugar first and this turned out much better. I also flattened mine a bit more because I think they look nicer like that. Just my personal preference.
maddy - I mix the butter/sugar first for 30 seconds, speed 4, scrape jug and repeat. Once rest of ingredients added I mixed for 10 seconds, speed 5. I like to flatten the too after rolling as we like them crunchy.
Dizzygirl - Made these for DS lunchbox. Snuck one in after dinner and they are absolutely delicious. Used smarties as they contain no artificial colours or flavours. Definitely make again. Thanks.

Thank you for the recipe cookie
I am gonna try it some time
Since we are on diet I don't know when exactly :)
-
No problem. You sound as though you are being very strong with your diet. Congraulations.

Mmmmmm I know 1 little girl (ok and one grown up one too :-))) that would love these. Might try to substitute the SF flour with the GF SR Flour.
Thanks Cookie :-*

I made another batch of these yesterday and they are so lovely and chocolatey. DD had to work today so took a heap in with her. I queried if the others would laugh at M & M biscuits and her reply was that it was comfort food. ;)
-
I know a BIG kid in our house who is going to love these ;) ;) :-* :-* :-* :-*

ILB, if you try these you need to substitute something for the M & M's as well because they aren't GF. My niece can get GF smarties, but she lives in Tassie. I'll ask her what brand they are and let everyone know on the forum.

Just got the email from my niece about the gf smarties. She buys the coles brand, and she said she thinks they are called happy rainbows, they come in the multipacks. They don’t say on the label they are g/f but the ingredients are fine as her son doesn't react to them and he is super sensitive to anything with gluten!! So I'm going looking too now!! I love Smarties!!! ;D

How many cookies does this make please?

My DD is so excited to find this rainbow biscuit! Yum....

I can't remember to be quite honest. Probably would depend on the size you make them.
-
I made about 18 cookies.

Ooh will definitely have to try these. I went to a play centre with my kids recently and brought them two M&M biscuits for $2.50each! That was a total of $10 for four biscuits :o
-
And I was selling mine for gold coin donations! I'm even cheaper than I thought :-\
-
Amy I think that is probably a good idea. I've been doing that with my more recent biscuit recipes.

I made these yesterday as presents for mum's work colleagues. I used the Christmas M&M's and did a doule batch. I got 61 large, flat biscuits from the mix, but I did do one batch at a time ;)
This is a great recipe, so this post is also a bump for the newbies ;D
