Title: Making caramel
Post by: Intrepidtrier on April 19, 2010, 07:33:12 am
Has anyone tried making caramel using a can of condensed milk????  I was wondering if it would turn out the same as boiling it if you just put it into the bowl and cooked it for maybe 12 - 20  minutes with the mc off  and would you still add the butter and golden syrup like you would if you where just cooking it on the stove top. Thanks Sandy

The only time I made caramelised condensed milk, I pierced the can and put it in a pan of boiling water and boiled it for about two hours!
Since then, I have just bought the tinned caramelised milk. When that runs out, I'll make Bron's Dulce de Leche as in the link that CP63 has posted.
