You will need:
1 carrot
1 apple
150 gr. organic rolled oats
150 gr. organic wholemeal spelt flour
pinch of Himalayan salt
3 tbs of molasses
2 eggs
Cut your fruit on 5, then add the rest of the ingredients.
Click on :: and knead for 2 minutes or so.
Using a tablespoon, spoon heaps out of the bowl straight onto your cookie sheet and into the preheated oven at 180C for 30 minutes. The dogs love it and I had one of those for breakfast, Lil. Ingrid

MJ - thanks inkha. I patted them out a bit with damp fingers and baked them a bit longer so they went quite hard.
Rambo (I didn't name him, DS did!) didn't eat them at first but when I gave him one later in the day he scoffed it.
Next time, I'll put some cheese in too. I'm waiting on some brewer's yeast, so will try that in his bickies.
Update - the cheese ones were yummy.

Inkha, you can edit your own post to add these in.

Ingrid, just go to your post and click 'modify' in the top right hand corner.
Thanks for these! I'm looking at making my dog's food as he has been really funny with food since we had to put our little dog down. Now, he's skinny and I'm despairing about what to feed him.
I have loads of other recipes as I've been researching. Wonder if we should have a separate section for pet food recipes???

Here's another link to more recipes. I made the recipe by MJ in this thread, they were perfect and they hardened up after a little while (need to leave them out to harden), like proper dog biscuits. My little dogs loved them, plus if kept in an airtight container, will last for ages. :)

Made these yesterday, thanks inkha.

The cheese ones were yummy!
We finally found out what was wrong with Rambo two nights ago when he was having trouble breathing, was drooling and stressing. We thought he'd got some chemical on his paws or taken a bait and tried to get him to drink, but he wouldn't.
It was 9.30 when I noticed his chest was expanding. I was worried he had ruptured his lung and his chest cavity was filling with air. Fortunately, the vet about an hour away had an emergency number.
My darling son drove him all that way (and didn't get home until 2 am!).
The vet discovered that all his organs were in his chest cavity and he had a collapsed lung!
He had been run over by visitors to our place last October and had broken his pelvis, which healed, and appeared to have no internal tissue damage - but, there had been a small tear in his diaphragm that was undetected in Xrays.
Due to the work he does as a sheep dog, the tear got larger and the negative pressure caused the organs to be sucked in to his diaphragm. (hope no one is eating while reading this :-X)
Xrays revealed a collapsed lung, as well as showing his organs pressing on his heart.
The wonderful vet operated on him the next day and put everything back in it's place and stitched up the tear. He's recovered brilliantly and I can pick him up tomorrow.
So, Rambo lives up to his name, for sure! I can't believe how lucky he is and I'm soooo happy!

OMG, all the best for Rambo !!!
-
Poor Rambo - that is not an uncommon occurrence that happens with car accidents in people too.
-
how sad when he can't tell you he is having an off day, but puts in a really hard day of physical labour because he is devoted to you.
well done Rambo, I am sure MJ has some extra special doggy biccies coming your way :-*

How stressful for you MJ, glad there was a good outcome for Rambo.

He's home and doing really well, thanks everyone.
It has indeed been stressful. To think that he jumped fences and chased sheep, then jumped on to the ute over and over and didn't ever complain!
He's been gobbling up these biscuits since he's been home! I have to keep him quiet for six whole weeks! It's been hard and it's only day two.... :-\
