Hello from another Perth (south of the river!) learner driver.
I have had my TM 2 weeks now. A friend raved about hers so much, I started to research online. After reading the Taste.com.au TM forums I was sold. And this friendly, helpful forum was just the icing on the cake. Funnily enough, we were so well prepared, I experienced (and got over) my buyer's remorse before we even had our demo!
So far have made risotto, butter, buttermilk bread and the herb 'n garlic dip.
Yesterday (encouraged by forum members' postings here) experimented with hot cross buns. As in a rush, made 2 small loaves instead of buns. We were just so delighted with how delicious it was toasted this morning.
Looking forward to (eventually) contributing more than just questions!
Cheers, Helen

Hi Helen, welcome to the forum. Tim Tams were always in the fridge in this house but since getting the TMX, guess what ??? - no more tim tams needed as there are so many delicious alternatives I can make instead of resorting to buying packets of biscuits. Look forward to any contributions you may have for us but in the meantime, questions are a good way of learning.

Welcome Helen, you're off to a flying start. Isn't it wonderful to be able to make hot cross buns. Yes, the recipe does make a beautiful fruit toast, which is one of my favourites. Which reminds me - I haven't made it for a while.

Welcome to the forum from another SOR Helen. I'm glad things are going well with your Thermomix. It is very easy to become enamoured of this machine.
-
Welcome Helen! Love your forum name. I think I should change mine to O4aWine!
Another SOR here, but well south, in the Great Southern, in fact! It's great that you're enjoying your new toy. Your family will certainly appreciate all the goodies too!

Hi Helen,
I'm one of the token blokes around here, so you have to watch out for me.
Was the Buttermilk Bread the one Isi posted? I was looking for an easy sandwich bread recipe and that one caught my eye. Did it turn out well?
Russell.

Welcome Helen!
Enjoy your new obssession... we do. ;D

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Yeah dunking dark Tim Tams in a cuppa is something I do more often than I should.
Russell, the Buttermilk Bread is from the Everyday Cook Book that came with the TM, page 115 (Nov 2009 Edition). I have seen Isi's photos and thought I might try her rollls next.
The one I made must be pretty newbie proof as I read half the first line which said "place all ingredients into TM bowl" ... which I duly did ... then read the rest of the line "... in the above order"!! LOL. I actually baked it in a loaf tin too and it rose above it so would be a good sandwich size.

Ahh OK. Not having a TMX yet, I don't know what's in the cookbook. Sounds promising though.
Russell.

Ha ha just had a thought....can we get it recognised as a religion so that we can put it on our census forms. Considering all the other ones that are put on there (ie Star Wars)
-
Think it would have to be described as a religion - maybe even Fanatical group :-)) :-))
-
I think we should all put it on out census forms. What would we write thermixamoholics, thermixamites, thermixamotosis, thermixaddicts,.........? Give the readers something different to read.
