Title: Thermoserver? Please Explain?
Post by: Russell on March 29, 2010, 06:10:44 am
I keep seeing references to the Thermoserver without much explanation. A quick Google tells me it's an insulated bowl. Can anyone elaborate more on the how & why?

Thanks. Russell.

You're going to be sooo educated by the time you get to your demo.

The Thermoserver is an insulated bowl that keeps food piping hot or freezing cold for about an hour.  Also fantastic for making yoghurt.  I make 2 litres of yoghurt for the cost of 3 litres of milk - so cheap, and no hidden nasties.

So you make your beef stroganoff, pop it in the thermoserver, cook your rice or pasta, and the beef stroganoff is still piping hot, instead of having to reheat it.  It's fantastic.

One of the demonstrators can explain how you get one for free...

You get one for free if you have a demo and buy a TMX.  :)

Ooh, ooh. And what if I buy a TMX and then have a Demo - same deal??

Yes Russell, it's a 'hold a demo' gift, not a 'buy a TMX' gift.

Guy speak: it's a double walled, single mould, cavity insulated stainless steel do-hicky, with a plastic plate-like base (catches drips from your spoon) and a plastic lid.

OK cool. And does it hook up the Internet wirelessly, or do I need an Ethernet cable?

Oh same question for the TMX, and doe sit had an SD Card slot to load the recipes in?  :P

Now there's some ideas for the next model!  ;)

Russell you are going to be the easiest sale ever!  I haven't seen this much excitement since Spanners questions before his demo.

Hmm, I seem to be reminded on some comments about being easy, but not cheap coming to mind  :-))

I guess I do belong here though hey, I'm giddy as a schoolgirl

Unfortunately it isn't on 3G, and you can't do internet grocery shopping on it :-(

Unfortunately it isn't yet network compatible. Sorry :(

OK, hand me the soldering iron and a mobile phone - we'll soon fix that!

You forget about the money.  I feel such a domestic goddess with thermoservers in hand (there was a special at the time we bought ours).  The kids and I eat and Spanner can waltz in a bit later and eat.
Oh it is a great feeling.  Pleased to report Spanner is still excited about the thermomix (and sometimes he even uses it  ;)

Oh don't worry, I'll be using it.

When we got married, I think my cookbooks outnumbered my DW by 10 to 1. I love trying new recipes, so expect to see plenty of conversions to TMX-FAILSAFE versions.

My biggest problem is I'm time-poor. I have too make irons in the fire so to speak. You can have a look at http://manyhobbies.com (http://manyhobbies.com) to get an idea of some of my other time sinks, and blogging isn't on of them  ;D).

And all by the DH, right??

Another Q. on the Thermoservers - what's the capacity? Is it 2l like the TMX, or different?

Whatever fits in the TM fits in the Thermoserver beautifully - so probably 2 litres.

OK well we finally got our demo invites and brochures (only 3 days before our demo :X). it seems you forgot one little item of info. We have to have 3 separate households in attendance to get one? Does that include our household?

Hi Russell:

I'm too late seeing this question of yours... but just in case it helps anyone else out there, here is a blog post I did, extolling the virtues of the Thermo Server.

http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2010/4436/what-is-thermomix-thermoserver.html

We who have them can't live without them. But... you probably have your own by now, so you know what I'm talking about...

 ;)
