Title: Nigella's Flourless Chocolate Brownies GF & DF
Post by: jojo on March 01, 2010, 12:06:45 pm
Name of Recipe: Flourless Chocolate Brownies - by Nigella Lawson  GF & DF

Number of People: Makes 16 serves (we did 8 and was a little rich for that quantity...  :))

Ingredients: and Preparation:
See link - recipe on her website. http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/flourless-chocolate-brownies-with-hot-chocolate-sauce-22 -

Even though I had read the recipe through, I forgot to do the ground almonds first and ended up having to take the melted choc out of the TM, wash, grind almonds and chop walnuts, set aside, then choc back in. Other than needing to do that first, you can basically follow the recipe as it reads.

Photos: Sorry, didn't take photos of mine... see link

Tips/Hints: Do small serving sizes as it is very rich, but very yummy! I didn't do the sauce, just served warm (nice and gooey) with King Island Pure Cream. Had some cold the next day with vanilla ice cream. Was different once cold and was more fudgey and pretty full on!

One to impress and very easy. Oh, and gluten and diary free!!

Zan - So easy to make in the tmx.
I made the almond meal, then chopped nuts (used mixture of almond/cashew/macadamia as don't like walnuts), both set aside, chopped and melted the choc and butter, added the rest of the ingredients as per recipe. Really quick and easy.
Wow so rich and decadent.

They do look very nice!  I loved the comment 'I could kiss Nigella for this - gluten free brownies'.  No mention of the calories!!
Obviously small servings are the way to go, dob of cream and some fruit to fill the plate.  Thanks jojo.

Yes, pretty easy to be GF when the key ingredient is chocolate!!

I thought it was interesting that Nigella's website had heaps of her recipes. I got the Nigella Express book for Xmas but don't have others. She definitely enjoys her good, doesn't she?  :)

Yes, it is a great resource for recipes, as if we need any more !!

... and yes, she does enjoy her food !!!  Somebody told us that the first series never showed below the waist line ? Not sure if that's true, but now you can see that she is happy to eat and not look like a supermodel.

Hi there,

The original link doesn't seem to work anymore. Here's the current link: http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/flourless-chocolate-brownies-with-hot-chocolate-sauce-22

I'll be making this for my son's 2nd birthday party as I'm expecting at least one celiac guest. Should be delicious...

:P
