I cannot see where I am supposed to 'introduce myself'.
Help! Toni

Hi Toni, welcome to the forum. You are in the right place, just go for it in this thread. Hope to hear more from you soon.

I guess i just introduced myself without realizing it! I am a Thermomix devotee and consultant from Perth W.A.. I have had my machine now for about 3 years. I am also a naturopath and I love the way I can prepare foods that preserve nutritional values in foods and also make creative cuisine possible. I have always been fascinated by unusual ingredients and recipes but now I can make things easily that I never used to bother with - things like breads, cakes, chutneys etc.
I recently made the raw apple cake which is in the Vegetarian cookbook and it was sensational - with a dollop of natural yoghurt and slices of banana and a dribble of maple syrup on top it is dessert to die for!
I am looking for a tried and tested asian style sauce or dressing for steamed fish, rice and vegetables if anyone has invented one. I will experimant too and let you know how it goes.

Welcome Toni. you will find plenty to interest you on this Forum. I have a recipe for an Asian type sauce, I'll look it out tomorrow.

Toni, I have looked for this recipe in my book and cannot find it - or do you mean the apple pie on page 122?
-
Or perhaps the apple cake/pie from the raw booklet? :)

Hi Toni, welcome to the forum.
What kind of Asian sauce do you want?
I've made a peanut sambal or sauce for Gado Gado salad in the TMX but it definitely has a pronounced peanut flavor and I doubt you would want that on fish but it is terrific on steamed vegetables and I love it on fried potatoes.

Toni, i will post a couple of sauces for you under 'sauces'

Toni, have a look at Thermoconverts sweet chilli sauce, it is very versatile and could suit your needs.

Welcome Toni! I will definitely be looking forward to your posts - I love that you're a natropath and TMX consultant - where do you find the time!!?? :)

Welcome to the forum Toni!

Welcome Toni! I have a cashew satay sauce - not sure if that's what you're looking for, but it's really yummy on fish, chicken or steamed or stir-fried veges. It's here: http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2009/02/baked-chicken-with-cashew-satay-sauce.html (http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2009/02/baked-chicken-with-cashew-satay-sauce.html) You can just warm it a little to serve it - it doesn't have to be cooked. :)

Welcome Toni! I also have an asian inspired sauce that I use for fish. I had fish done this way at a Malay Restaurant and came home and copied it as best I could. I have made it for years, so time to drag it out again. It wasn't made for the TMX, so I'll have to experiment. It is steamed, so should work well.
