Thanks for that - didn't realise it was so simple - have now made a very tasty hommus with home made tahini!

Tahini can also be served as a dip/spread itself, prepared in a similar way to houmous.  Add some lemon juice, salt, crushed garlic and thin it out with olive oil and/or water. Also nice with chopped parsley through it.

Have today made the tahini in preparation to making the humus tomorrow...will let you know how it goes  ;)

This recipe from Vegetarian cook book -

Ingredients -
200g hulled sesame seeds (can also use unhulled)
20g sesame oil
Method -
Seeds in TM bowl - dry roast 8-10 mins, 100deg, speed 1
Mill 25 seconds, speed 10
Scrape down
Add oil, puree for 10 seconds, speed 9
Keep in sterilised jar in fridge
Tooo easy!

Tahini can be quite sticky to get out of the thermomix bowl (and I hate waste!). Warming the finished product to 37 degrees on stir for a minute or two makes it runnier so it's easy to pour into a container - thickens again as it cools  ;)

There is also a tahini recipe in the MWOC as part of a dip recipe i think?
