Just showed this to my husband, when he saw who the recipe was from, immediately said "that's what we're having tonight".  He trusts and loves all your recipes without even reading what's in them!  He's your biggest fan.

Wow, what a responsibility I've created myself.  Luckily for everyone I just went and bought chicken and cream so it's definitely on the menu tonight.  Can't wait to try, and will definitely review.

Cookie1, check out MM's recipe here for rabbit stew ( I use chicken thighs)

http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=149.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=149.0)

It was the first meal I was really happy with.  It is totally different to this one of isi's but they use the same amount of coffee powder.  It just gives it a nice flavour.

Well it's almost cooked.  I assumed speed 1, any thoughts?  Also, looks very thin so may have to thicken a little.

What is butterrise?  As in serve with butterrise or pasta?

probably buttered rice

Delicious!  That's the official verdict!  The chicken was very tender, and the sauce was delicious and creamy.  Really not sure how to describe what the coffee does, but it adds "something".

I used 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable stock concentrate instead of the meat boullion, and added 1 dessertspoon of cornflour mixed in a little sauce at the end to thicken it.  Still a little thin, but delicious.

I put the varoma full of zucchini and beans on at the 6minute mark.  They weren't quite ready, so cooked for about another 4 minutes.

And for those with kids, my 4.5 DD ate chicken for maybe the second time.

Good work CB79 - great stuff.

Coffee is used a fair bit in the Jura ?? in France with veal and other meats in small amounts.   It really doesn't taste of coffee when made this way if people are worried.

I have had this on my to do list and finally got around to it for lunch today.  Did 1/2 quantity which made enough for 3 serves in this household and used chicken tenderloins which I picked up cheap this morning.  Because they weren't going to take as long as chicken fillet to cook,  I sauteed the onion and garlic in the butter for 5 minutes then added everything else and cooked for just 8 minutes.  Served with pilaf rice and really enjoyed it thanks isi.  I can see children enjoying this one for sure, cannot taste the coffee as such but it does add a nice flavour.

Sounds good to me Chookie.  Are you growing your own asparagus?

Can I ask what is 1/2 cube meat buillon?  Is this a stock cube??

Just like you can't pick the beans in the magic bean cake, you can't taste the coffee in this sauce. If you want a plain, creamy chicken dish that the kids will enjoy, I would recommend this recipe. Personally, I prefer stronger flavours, but both of my kids went back for seconds.

I did the same as Judy and sautéed the onion and garlic in the butter for 5 minutes along with a tablespoon of flour. I then added the cream, milk and coffee and mixed on speed 5 for 10 seconds. I added chopped chicken thighs, green beans and broccoli, and set the timer for 15 min. After it had cooked for 12 minutes, I added some peas through the lid. Whilst this was cooking, I cooked a packet of pasta on the stovetop. I served it with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese. There was enough to feed the four of us, and even though the kids had seconds, there is enough leftover for my lunch tomorrow.
