Title: Looking for a break/cake recipe that's gluten free
Post by: Lexi on January 20, 2010, 10:59:47 pm
but not crumbly like cake.  My toddlers don't like cake and how it's crumbly yet they love bread and finger buns.

BUT they are supposed to be gluten free.  Any ideas?  Anyone made finger buns with gluten free flours?

I haven't and left the GF book at home.  But there is no reason not to add some sweetener to a GF bread mix and make into small buns and top with egg glaze and some sugar (or similar) or ice them after cooking.  Add some dried fruit - like hot cross buns.

Ahhh ok so if I add sweetener instead of salt I turn them more into a cake/bun than a bread?  Experimenting time here we come.

And use butter instead of oil. Actually, double the amount of butter.

Best to still use some salt - but see how you go.
