From Fast and Easy Indian Cooking.
I made the sauce in the TMX and finished cooking in the crock pot as I had other dishes to make. It was really tasty, not hot at all. This would be a good one for kids.

Thanks Megan, this was on my menu plan (OMG yes I menu planned last week!!!!) but we all decided it was too darned hot on Sunday night for anything other than BBQ and salad so it never got made. Glad to know it isn't hot though so will make it to the recipe when it cools off a bit. I think we are in for cooler weather tomorrow and the next day so may just make it the since I have everything now ;D ;D ;D

You're not the only person who has been changing their menu to fit the heat Kathryn. We've been swapping round every where. 350 is bearable and ok to cook in, but much over that is YUK. I put the TMX out in the laundry last night and cooked everthing in that. Chicken skewers with satay sauce, rice in the basket and other vegies in the varoma with the chicken.

Thanks for the review MJ - sad to hear that it is hot there - means we'll get it soon.

To be perfectly honest I think SA and possibly Vic have had more heat than we have. I believe it's over 40 again today. The 3rd day in a row. They tell us it's the hottest summer since ???? ages ago and we're now 56, 57, 58, or maybe 60 by now days without any rain which is a fairly long spell for Perth. We usually get a few summer storms etc in December. Not a heck of a lot we can do about it other than whinge. :P

We are not so bad - some rain overnight.
-
This lack of rain is a real worry. :-[ Our dams are drying up quickly and we've been moving sheep onto other land to keep the water up to them. We had to cancel our holiday in Augusta because of it. :'(
But, we're off to Bremer Bay on Saturday for five days. It always seems to rain when we go there.... :-X

I am cooking this now. I followed the recipe, but am hoping using cumin, cardomom and coriander seeds whole is ok ???

Oh, you know, I can't remember, but I think at that stage I didn't have the whole spices and used ground. I think I'd still grind them first!
How did it go?
-
It was ok, but I will grind the spices next time to compare :)

we've just cooked this tonight, using whole spices.
1. next time I'll toast & grind the spices first - before doing the cashew paste. it's not pleasant biting into cinnamon shards!
2. we didn't cook this on the stove at the end, but left it in the TM at 100C for an extra 10 minutes.
I also think that it was missing something flavour wise - something to work on!
