LOL - sounds delicious, sounds a little south of the border, down Mexico way - but from the SkinnyChef ?? with avocado/chocolate/brown sugar ???
I must be on the wrong sort of diet. At least there is fruit in it !!
-
This is also very good with a shot of espresso coffee in it, to replace the cocoa. High octane fuel for a busy day!
-
interesting..... :D
-
Hmm, not sure about this. ???
is it a Queensland thing!? ;)
-
Not strange - supposed to be a Vietnamese regular, but like lots of food combining - eg peppers and tomatoes, fennel and oranges - things that live in the same environment often go together.
Chocolate and avocadoes are from Mexico.
Try some truffles - http://whatscookingamerica.net/Candy/AvocadoChocTruffles.htm (http://whatscookingamerica.net/Candy/AvocadoChocTruffles.htm)

Definitely going to try those truffles TMX Queen! ::)

I've tried this, and is really addictive! There is an Indonesian dessert, which uses coconut milk and palm sugar instead, and no chocolate. Not as healthly, but absolutely to die for! ;)

I've been wanting to try this recipe ever since I first found this forum and today was the day as I had the main ingredient - 1/2 an avocado. I found it to be too thick so I added another 200mls milk which made a delicious drink, still thick but more drinkable. DH doesn't like avocado but liked this so is a good way to get some avocado into his diet. I will be buying it now just to make this drink rather than waiting for leftovers. I also added some frozen banana and ice as suggested, maybe that is why it was too thick in the first instance.

Not sure how this may go with DH - but thought that you may have overlooked it (I know you have checked out ALL the posts!!

Thanks for thinking of us Thermomixer but DH doesn't like lemon, glace fruit, marmalade or avocado. Got away with avocado in the drink but too many items he doesn't like in this ice-cream and you know who would end up having to eat it. ;D ;D Sounds interesting though, have you made it?
-
No, always forget about it until after the avocadoes have been eaten - damn
-
Got given a bag full of ripe avos - so went looking on here to see what i could do with them. Well i've never heard off it but gave it ago. just sipping on it now. DELISH!!!! :D if I had all the ingredients i would try the ice-cream too :-\

-
I think it is a great breaky shake!! 8)

I have to ask :-)) :-)) :-)) can you taste the avocado in this?? I absolutely adore avocado but DH hates it with a passion....so much so he goes crook when I feed it to the two little ones lol....yet I still do it!! I would love to be able to serve this to him unknowingly ;) ;) along with the kids
-
I like avo... DH not fussed but you can definitely taste *something* in it. Sorry!
-
ah well looks like it is just the kids and I lol :-)) :-)) :-))
-
Make it while DH is out doing a demo - sneak the avocado into the house and it can be your secret treat - except that he is probably reading this over your shoulder :o :o
-
Well I didn't think you could taste it in there at all. I served it up for afternoon tea after school (school friend was over as well) and didn't let on what was in there - just called it a 'thick shake'. everyone lapped it up and said how good it was and when they were finished ask them to guess what was in it - no one did of course. When I told them they couldn't believe it - but it didn't put them off they have had it quite a few times since knowingly. :D
-
Maybe make it and taste it and see what you think? I know that when I don't like something that I am more likely to pick it up in food/drink than if I do!
As Nay Nay said... you can always try sneaking it in and see how you go! lol Well, as long as he's not allergic to it! heehee
-
just came by this and definately need to try it plus the other yummy links posted for truffles and icecream yum!! sometimes the most unusual combinations give the best flavours :) :)
-
Just made this and it was delicious !!!! I added half a banana and it was so thick and almost moose like =D Cant wait to show my BF this new drink =D I was a bit skeptical at first because of the avo but i was so wrong !
Thanks for the recipe !
