Title: Amchur Powder (dried mango powder)
Post by: meganjane on January 07, 2010, 03:28:18 am
There was some discussion a while back about where to get hold of this as it's used in the Indian Cookery book. I found this site while looking for vanilla beans

Thanks MJ - Herbie's is good.  I have some green mango powder from the local shop and I meant to check what they called it - coz I kow it wasn't amchur.  Looks like it has many names.

I got mine from an Indian shop nearby. They are ever so helpful. Always ask what I'm making etc. I think they've found the concept of the TMX a bit confusing though. ???

Herbie's is a wonderful site. Brilliant for me as I don't get time to go to specialist stores when I'm in Perth.
