Title: I ordered my UK Thermomix books!
Post by: vivacity on December 17, 2009, 12:02:52 pm
Well, that's MY Christmas gifts sorted. I just ordered the following English Thermomix books from the UK site and am looking forward to using my valuable Christmas hols to try them all out:

1. "Fast and Easy Cooking" book
2. "Demonstrator Delights"
3  "Healthy eating with Cyndi O'Meara" (for my new year's resolution to eat healthily, see how long that lasts :-[)
4. "Fast and Easy Indian Cooking" (no decent curries in our area of Germany)

The lady taking my order was SO helpful. She worked out how to minimise the costs of packaging and postage, so that was brilliant ;D

Love it - priorities.  Look after Number 1 first - then all will be well  :-* :-* :-*

Santa gave me the UK cookbooks for Christmas also Vivacity.  He delivered mine a little early though and I couldn't wait to open them!  ;)  It's very fun having some new TMX cookbooks to look through.  I wish I had thought to get the Indian one also from the UK.

That's right, Thermomix ;D Since I'll be doing most of the cooking this month, the books will definitely help.

Chelsea: How long did your books take to arrive? I'm hoping they should take around 4-5 days from UK to Germany. Can't wait!

I can't remember exactly Vivacity.  I remember being surprised by how little time it took them to come to Oz - maybe just under two weeks??  At this time of year it is difficult to predict postage but I hope they arrive very soon for you.  :)

Cyndi O'Meara and the Indian cookery book arrived on Christmas day and the other two arrived today. The Fast and Easy Cooking book is so much more polished than the German one and there are tons more recipes in it in comparison. The German one is "plumped up" with photos. I can't wait to get cooking. The recipes are really inspiring ;D Three cheers for Janie Turner at UK Thermomix :)

Oh and my brother bought me Spice Market by Jane Lawson for Xmas which has to be one of the best cookery books EVER! I'm in food heaven ;)

You have postal deliveries on Christmas day ?  Good to see you are enjoyibg them.

Jane Lawson's Spice Market is good.  There is one suited to your part of the world Snowflakes and Schnapps - but with your vegan diet now, maybe not - lots of heavy winter food for carnivores - see the review http://www.worldfoodieguide.com/index.php/snowflakes-and-schnapps-by-jane-lawson/ (http://www.worldfoodieguide.com/index.php/snowflakes-and-schnapps-by-jane-lawson/)

She has other books on Japanese and Spanish inspired food - some of her recipes have been converted on here.

(embarrassed cough) sporadic vegan diet you mean :-[ Oh well, there are always new year resolutions ;)

I'm off to the local Asian supermarket today to get a few bits and bobs to try making some of the book's curry pastes in the TMX. Thanks for mentioning some of the other books by Jane Lawson. I had never heard of her before but the book is so good I want to give up my day job and just cook, cook, cook ;D
