For this challenge you can do anything related to Christmas and your Thermomix:
- Review a Christmas recipe that's already on the board (photos if possible please!)
- Review a recipe from one of the books
- or convert a recipe of your own or elsewhere and post on the board
Happy cooking!
here is the last challenge http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1949.0

I just bought some turkey today to start practising ideas for Christmas - this is perfect!
-
I guess the best place to put them would be in the Christmas section or would somewhere else be better Karen?
I suppose reviews would go in reviews, drrr.
-
;D cookie!
I bought a turkey buffe at Woolies the other day as it was half price! It's in my freezer, so I'll be thinking of ways to use it for this challenge!!
-
I cooked the turkey leg wrapped in bacon with potatoes (from Varoma cookbook) and it was really delicious, but took longer than the recipe said - I think it took about 1 3/4 hrs by the time it was completely cooked! I was slicing bits off after an hour, because my dh had to eat and go to work... but the flavour was so yummy. Think I'll have to tweak that one!
-
I've reviewed the shortbread from last years Festive book and will do a couple of others. I'll also post my Rum Balls recipe and perhaps a couple of other biscuits/slices I've adapted.
-
Mmmmm rum balls.... ;D

course it does tenina! all welcome :D
-
Tenina, that looks awesome. We always have a cold Christmas so I would say you have solved part of my problems of what to have this year. I love the new site too.
-
Thanks cookie...keep those comments coming...did you see Julie and Julia? The way to a blogger's heart is through her comments! hahaha ;D
-
Tenina that looks fantastic. Christmas is at my place this year and dessert is now solved. May have to do a trial run before christmas day ;D

Good luck with surgery. :-*
-
Thank you :)
-
How did it go ILB?
-
The Op MJ? Really well. Turns out the gall bladder hadn't been working for sometime and was in a pretty sorry state. Ifeel about 90% at the moment. Dropped into work today and everyone was commenting how much better I looked! Within a couple of days the dark circles under my eyes lightened right up and my eyes became much clearer! I have pretty good skin, but even that was commented on today. So it must be all good ;) Still have to be a bit careful of what I eat - but that's all for the best anyway ;)
-
Fish and chips and deep-fried Mars bars would be out ?
-
I feel sick at the thought :-X
-
No bad reactions with all the testing you've been doing this week ILB.
-
That's good news indeed, ILB. My mum had her GB removed and she was so much better afterwards. She just steered clear of fatty foods and didn't have a problem.
-
It seems people who have had theirs removed have often been ill for a while. I'm glad you are feeling so much better ILB.
-
Testing's beween ok JD ;)
We had our street party last night and I'm not sure if it was the bbq'd meat or the wine -but I'm feeling a little off this morning.
-
A street party - sounds fun. Probably the greasy BBQ meat ILB - couldn't possibly have been the alcohol :D :D :D :D :-* :-*
-
I agree JD -always blame the food -alcohol is never likely to be a problem ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
It must have been the food ;) When I went to tip out the rest of the bottle of bubbles I was quiet suprised to see how little I did drink. ???
Thanks for your faith in me though :D :D ;) :-* :-* :-* :-*
DD had her first sleep over at a friends place last night and apparently they let the kids stay up till after midnight :o :o :o :o :o So you can guess who has been sleeping since about 2pm... :-)) :-))
-
Now to get her back into your routine ILB - hope she had fun though.
-
What a brave DD and Mum too. The first is always the worst.
-
Yes JD ;) :) trying to get her back into it. She woke up all coldy and looking miserable :(
-
Anyone ready for a new challenge??? I can't remember what the other options were when we started the Christmas challenge.
One Idea for this time of year............Lunchboxes........It's almost that time of year, and for many (including me) it's a first.
What makes a nutritious, enticing lunchbox that survives in the heat?

Don't you remember CreamPuff having a dummy spit and trying to vote more than once? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D bless her.

It is probably an opportune time for lunchbox suggestions though - and many are converting recipes now.
CP - are you listening? What do you think ??

Yes, I remember that now...let's see what happens...

Lunchbox ideas is a fantastic idea! Though I'm lucky at the moment and most things go in the fridge at daycare. A couple of our favourites at the moment is EDC's carrot cake but in cupcake sizes, iced and then individually wrapped and frozen for a quick grab. Madam (aka miss 3) loves the basil pesto dip in her lunch box with some crackers. Or it adds some flavour to a sanga. Oce my new pc is up and going I'll also post my fav zucchini slice.
