Title: Officially a Newbie from England
Post by: Shally on November 07, 2009, 10:48:52 am
Dear All

After 'sorting' Xmas presents and ensuring the children and family wouldn't miss out - I ordered my Thermomix on Thursday morning and it arrived at work Friday afternoon. On arrival home it was unwrapped, washed and set to work by my DH et al! Whilst I jointed chickens and chopped chicken breast for the 'Chicken in yoghurt curry' DH proceeded to mill cumin and coriander seeds, de-skin garlic and proceeded to make our entire meal. Not only do I have a new TM but I have a cook that comes with it too - how lovely?  :-*

How bizarre that the only disagreement I forsee DH and I having is who gets to cook because I want a go too!  ???

It was lovely to see DH, DD and DS all working together making the meal. DS and DD had not seen the demonstration, and didn't really understand why DH and I were excited about the TM, however they were very quickly impressed and a string of requests for dishes soon followed.

I am allowed to cook dinner this evening, we will be having risotto and fruit sorbet - and I get to play - yeah ;D

I have also purchased the Australian EDC so I am able to quickly reference some of the recipes you discuss/review as I have been reading this site avidly on a daily basis and realise what a vital resource and lovely forum this site is - so thanks to you all - you may not realise it but your words of wisdom are very encouraging/endearing and supportive to all; whether or not people post a reply.

I am so happy I can experience the joys of the TM first hand  :) and hopefully one day (soon) I may be able to contribute to the forum?

Every good wish

Sharon :-)

Welcome to the World of TMX!  Hope you get to use your machine soon although it's great to have others keen to cook with TMX.
Looking forward to your postings. :D

Welcome Sharon - great to see another person from England here.   It sounds as if you are going to be having loads of fun with your machine and discover how amazing it is.

I've had mine 6 months now and it is part of the family.   Even the cat has got used to the noise it makes - she used to run out of the kitchen when I first started using it, but now she ignores it almost as much as she ignores me....

Welcome Sharon's OH as well....

If you like ice-cream, can I recommend the Salted Caramel Maple Icecream recipe on this Forum - probably the best ice-cream I've ever made   ;)
