Hello! After hearing friends rave about the TMX I decided to book a demo as I couldn't make the recent cooking class. DH was very sceptical and said it wouldn't be worth the money and it would sit in a cupboard collecting dust. However after the demo he was just as interested as I was! We ordered ours yesterday and I'm impatiently waiting for it to arrive (I want it NOW darn it!). In the meantime I'm having fun trying to source local organic produce to go with it. I'm pretty excited about the thought of being able to make things like jam, butter, bread etc without all the added nasties.
I have 2 daughters aged 3 and 1 and I really want to get them eating healthily and think that the TMX can only help in that.
I think one of my first endeavours will be to use the vanilla beans I bought in a co-op a while ago! heehee I had planned on using them to make vanilla extract as part of Christmas hampers but I've left it a little late but I'm sure I will get through it anyway!
I have been lurking around the past few days and daresay I will be posting more when the tmx arrives... I am still deciding on names... lol
Oh and my name is Susan... forgot to say that! lol

Hi Snoozie, welcome to the forum. It certainly pays to take DHs to demo's doesn't it ;) ;) Make sure your TMX sits ON the cupboard not IN the cupboard. That way you will hear it calling you everyday to use him/her. In the meantime, whilst you are awaiting delivery, keep browsing this site - there is so much to read and learn on here. Have fun.
-
Welcome Snoozie - good to see you out of lurking. :-* :-* :-*
-
Thanks - I recognise your names from my lurking... I now have a favourites file of recipes to try when the tmx arrives! I've just started a christmas hamper favourites folder too and am adding recipes there. heehee I've always wanted to give homemade for Christmas a go and I think that might actually be achievable this year now!
Initially I was so impressed with the tmx I discussed becoming a consultant with the guy who demonstrated at our place but the next day I was offered a job and I don't think I have enough time to do it all right now although I am still interested in the concept as I can see how it sells itself but with my new job I feel comfortable buying outright and not having the stress of repaying it if that makes sense? :)
I have always loved cooking and tend to cook in bulk. In recent years I have become more aware of what's in the food we eat and the more I find out the more concerned I become. I can see the difference in my children when they've been fed up on rubbish by nanny and poppy and given my family's tendency to obesity I am wanting to give my kids the right tools from an early age so they eat the "right" foods.
Back to recipe hunting!
Susan :)

Congratulations on scoring a job in the current climate - good for you.
There are a number of consultants on board and you could Private message them to get ideas - also check out the Demonstrators ChitChat thread http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1461.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1461.0)
Good luck either way.

Welcome Susan it is lovely to have you on board. I agree with the healthy food for your young children and for all of the family.

Welcome! You'll find some great inspiration here. :)

Hello to a neighbour! Well Darling Downs is pretty big, but I'm from Toowoomba. I know a few fellow owners up here, but most aren't on the forum (as far as I know anyway). Sounds like our girls are about the same age, and we're both trying to do the right thing by them. I'm gradually replacing what's in my pantry with healthier options.
Make sure you try the chocolate custard! It's just like yogo (which I never bought) and great for the lunchbox, but with all natural ingredients.

Will have to try the choc custard... the lemon custard at the demo was divine and I am so hoping it's in the book that comes with the tmx! lol

Yep, straight from the book, no tweaking necessary, although can be adjusted to taste. But we like it exactly as per recipe.

Hi and welcome! Let us know when it arrives. I'm not far from you only about an hour from Toowoomba (North). ;)Before long we'll be able to start our own thread -"Darling Downs/Granite Belt/Burnette Get-together" HE HE ;D LOL
-
Good idea, I know about 5 users in Toowoomba...We can have our own recipe swap get together!
-
I think so! Will have to see when the next cooking demo is. I've had so much fun these last few days making things and discovering new things (found some fowlers vacola bottles at vinnies today lol).
My husband is reeling from getting non-take away food 3 days in a row AND having lunch to take to work! lol
Still working on the kids and getting them to eat decently but I will get there!
Which reminds me... I was going to have a shot at doing the granola tonight.

Well I ordered my Tilly, They say it will be next week sometime.
Thanks Cathy for chatting to me about the TMX :P , I think you would make a good consultant :D
Even thou I went to a class, it was you who convinced me, We need a TMX.
To be able to feed the four foster children healthy food.Because they are all still babies I am sure Tilly will help me to provide some good
nutritional meals starting from scratch.
PS Can drop some wheat of to ya anytime Cathy

So you've named her already, that's great. She'll make a fantastic addition to your little family. I'm in exam mode at the moment (apart from my little forum breaks) so when I'm over that, I'll organise to catch up with you sometime. And that will give me a chance to look through the clothes and see if I can help you out. What size is baby girl in?
