Title: Newbie from Perth Australia
Post by: Kitchenwitch on October 21, 2009, 10:53:45 am
Hello fellow TM fans. I got mine about 5 weeks ago after my neighbour had a demo. It was love at first sight I'm afraid ;). Now every day at work I have people saying "did you make that in your new machine?". (No, this is a ham sandwich!) So far I've learnt to process for a bit less time than instructed in the recipes - as I have already once announced that the salad we were having was now going to be soup - "I changed my mind" was the excuse! My TM is called "Arnie" after the "Terminator" Mr Schwarzenegger - seems appropriate for a German machine (yes I know he's Austrian, but he speaks German). Anyway I'm looking forward to sharing expertise (aka picking your brains) and hope to contribute often once I become more competent  :)

Hi & welcome to the forum Kitchenwitch - you will find this a fun place to be I'm sure.  It won't be long and you can say you did make that ham sandwich in the TMX - well the bread, butter and chutney part anyway. You have learnt fast - to reduce chopping times (by at least half in my case).  You can always go back for more - I like my onions chunky, not mushy. Sounds like your workmates are already taking the mickey out of you so you must have been raving about your machine for that to happen. Start taking some of the goodies you make into work (biscuits, cakes etc) and they will just have to agree with you. Have fun.

Welcome to our mad house.  It is amazing when you start using the TMX and spin the dial and then look in the lid and find your chunks are mush.   Still, it is fun and nobody will tell me otherwise.  Enjoy........

Thanks for all the welcoming messages :) - what a friendly bunch! I've already printed off some recipes & hints & as I work F/T I can't wait for the weekend (starting tonight as DH is going out - YAY - did I say that?) to get stuck in. Going to Tassie on Tuesday - shame I can't take Arnie with me (Arnie is my TM, not my DH!). I look forward to meeting some of the Perthites at the Freo class on 17 November.

Hi KW! Another Perthite! I'm not from Perth, but am in the Great Southern. I'd love to come to meet you at the Freo get together, but am coming to Perth the following week for appts, plus am flying out to Sydney at the end of that week. I'm using all my Brownie Points for that week away, so no chance of a quick trip up the week before!! :-\

There's some awesome people here and some great recipes. Have fun this weekend! I call my TMX 'Timmy' for want of a better name right now.
