Title: Salmon in the Varoma Tray
Post by: CreamPuff63 on October 06, 2009, 07:03:02 am
Has anyone got a delicious recipe for salmon in the Varoma? I have seen one in the Fast & Easy cookbook that has a Mushroom Sauce to pour over, whilst the rice is also cooked in the TM bowl as the salmon steams in a foil wrap. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I use the whole snapper recipe that's in the EDC, instead of the snapper, I use salmon fillets, and just keep an eye on them so they don't over cook. I serve it with cous cous.
Tastes really good. :)  ;D

Hi CP63,
I love the Asian Fish Fillets in the EDC using salmon. The only change to make is that after you've chopped the herbs, add a bit of oil and saute for 2 mins, 100C. Otherwise the herbs can be a bit "grassy". It's yum and only takes about 15 minutes (depending on how thick the salmon is and how well you like it done) and you have rice, veggies and salmon ready all at once.

Thanks Sim and ILB, its important this dish impresses as DD has become a consultant and has already given the local restaurant a demo. They were absolutely amazed and were very enthusiastic. They wanted her to come back next week and show them the Varoma side of things but were especially interested in seeing salmon (at their expense  :D). Thought if there was a great recipe out there that a forum member knows of we would have a little trial at home also so that the demo is smooth  ;) (Mmn, and that night I wouldn't have to cook tea...)

CP63 have you got the Full Steam Ahead cookbook.  There is a nice one in there called Salmon with salmon mousse stuffing and mango sauce.  TrudyO reviewed it on 1/9/09 and loved it.

Yum!

CP, the Asian Fish Fillets I mentioned earlier is also the one that consultants are trained to do at Varoma demos as it's so quick and easy with a delicious result.  ;)

Thank you ILB, that is always reassuring to know that its highly recommended to demo. I will amend the book accordingly, and she can demo  :-* :-* :-*
