I have had my TM for about a week, and all of a sudden it is sounding different. I am worried..
I haven't done anything out of the ordinary either. The pitch of the motor has changed, its hard to describe. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Sim
After I'd had mine a month or so it also started making a funny sound. When it was working on 7 or above it made a high pitch noise that almost sounded like an engine belt slipping. I was devastated, thinking I had broken it but it settled down and is fine now so hopefully yours is something similar.

mine occasionally makes weird noises, especially on very high speed (it sounds like the blade is catching the sides of the bowl) but it's not a constant thing. might be worth giving karen a call?

Yes, you get to know the sound of your TMX and know when something isn't right. I've had those moments too but they pass. Guess if it continued, I would have to do something about it but it seems to only last for one recipe and on the very rare occasion.

Thanks, I am feeling a tad better now. I'll keep an eye on it, it seems to have settled for now. Fingers crossed.

Just be careful that it doesn't change tone a few seconds into chopping something large like in the beetroot salad. You can get bits caught on the blade & strip the spindle making the blades useless. If you hear that stop it immediately & check.

Thanks for that tip JZ :-* :-*

Hi Sim,
Also check that the o-ring under the blades is completely dry and clean. Feel free to phone me if it happens again and I can listen to it over the phone or come over - that's what I'm here for :-)

Thanks for that JZ. It's happened to me a couple of times and I have stopped the machine but didn't treat it as an urgent thing to stop it. Will do so now. :-*

Ahhh you're a wonderful consultant K3 :)
And yay, another Canberran!

Aww shucks Rowyfo,
I'm so lucky that I have great customers!
Are we meeting up for a group coffee this week?

Thank you Karen and thanks for the advice JZ. It should be fine for now, phew!

Hi, it is also very common to get a whistle up when using the tmx on speed 4. Most machines will do this and it's nothing to worry about. It can come and go too.

Thanks ILB. The other night when we had 3 machines cooking dinner we were discussing this. We realised it was happening to all of us so guessed it must be ok. I can now share the info that it happens to others too. Thanks. :-*
