Well, I'm excited and nervous to be joining this active bunch of TMixers here in cyberspace. I haven't left the kitchen since getting my Bimby about a month ago. I figure now it's time to come up for air and say "hello".
I live on a (relatively large) island off the west coast, but NOBODY here knows about Thermomix. Not even the foodies! So...as you know, the Thermo fever can get to you, and it sure has got me... I'm even starting a new blog site to tell Canadians about it. ( not sure if I'm allowed to mention that here or not ??? ). I expect to be stuck in this fabulous forum all day long, while you Aussies are sleeping.... but I'm sure our paths will cross some time...
Cheers to you all from across the big pond!

Welcome, Helene, it is good to have any 'new blood' here! :o
And the North American numbers can always do with a boost.
-
Thank you Amanda! I am hoping to do my part to boost the numbers here. I can not understand why it hasn't caught on. This machine is amazing. It really has changed how I cook... and I was quite resistant to start... but am a softy for the Thermie now.

Welcome - once you've used one you really do want to get onto the rooftops and tell everybody.
-
Welcome Helene, I am sure you will do a fantastic job getting everyone excited...it's really hard not to once you own your own machine ;D

Thanks to all for the lovely welcome!
I have just added my blog address to the signature. But... there's not much to see yet... EXCEPT that I am collecting testimonials to show the Canadians up here what they are missing out on. I have put a contest on the site with prizes for to be drawn from those submissions... Smoked Salmon from Salt Spring Island... :P It is a delicacy from British Columbia... Not to worry, it's specially sealed for shipping and yes, I can send this by mail to anywhere... so feel free to submit your thoughts and who knows.. you might get some salmon in the mail. Oh yes, and of course, anyone who submits a testimonial will get a link to their own blog if they have one. That's how we do it here...
Anyhow, I'm happy to be in this forum meeting lovely people from far away who understand my new obsession. Isn't it interesting how we can bond with a kitchen appliance? Quite surprising really.

Hi Helene and welcome to the forum ;D

Oh Helene I am so pleased you are going to be active on this forum. You will be able to post some of your lovely recipes here. How about one for fresh salmon steaks in theVaroma? We are lucky in Australia to have a very good salmon farming industry in Tasmania not as tasty as wild caught but readily available.
Cheers,
Gretchen

Hi Helene. I am a wondering how you are doing with your new toy? Anyything to share with us?
Cheers,

Hi Gretchen!
Thanks for asking and Yes, I DO have something to share with you! :) But it's not quite ready yet. :( I have been extremely busy cooking up a storm and taking food photos and preparing the new blog but I haven't had time to do much actual 'posting' yet. Soon though, very soon. ;)
Also, I did receive your lovely testimonal! Thank you! The purpose of my new blog is, most of all, to educate Canadians (and others) and to create more awareness about Thermomix. I think they say Canada is at the level that Australia was at three years ago. In my town, NOBODY, truly NOBODY has heard of this machine. As you can imagine, that makes it very hard for new TMX consultants -- of which I am not one. I am hoping that awareness level problem will change with the addition of a fun new blog site... We shall see. (I've been getting wonderful support from the Canadian distributor on the West Coast here. They're great folks to deal with , as are all the people I've met so far by forum and email...)
In the meantime I am busy cooking and taking photos. I can truly say I have baked more bread in the past month than in my entire (50) year life previous. I have set myself a challenge to "never buy baked goods EVER again". So far I am successful and it has not been hard to do at all. You will read about this challenge on the blog -- when I get time for the postings...
The minute that new blog is available for public view, I will tell about it on this forum... before telling the general public. You will get a sneak peak -- in just few short days.
Thanks for the contact Gretchen -- Goodday! (Is that how you say it Down Under?)

This is all good news Helene. You are one busy gal and nearly right. It is G'day sort of pronounced grr dai. LOL! Can't wait to see your blogg. What on earth are you doing with all the bread? Don't eat it or you will be putting on the kilos like I did when I got my TMX.
Talk again soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing your new blog. I am envious of all the people who are able to do these sorts of things. It would be a lovely record of the cooking you do, especially if you can take photos like Julie.
