Title: Sealant breaking off.
Post by: Decadent Dot on October 01, 2015, 02:50:19 pm
Has anybody else had the problem of that  fine line of sealant around the edge of the TM5 breaking off.  I have never had any problems with Thermomixers in  almost 35 years  but now I notice that the sealant is breaking away. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

This problem is new to me Dot.I would give HO a ring and see what they say about the problem.

The only problem I've had with my TM5 was a Error code C160 fault. It was fixed under warranty.
Please let us know how it's resolved.

I don't have that problem Dot. Get it fixed. Your machine must look a little shabby. My TM 5 is giving error messages about being able to access the chip. I have brushed the terminals etc but it hasn't helped. I don't want to have to send it back for such a dumb thing but DD uses the chip a lot.
I will contact my consultant and see what she says.

Cookie mine had issues with the chip too.  My consultant popped over with another chip and found it was my chip that was faulty, she replaced it there and then.

Thanks everyone. Well I decided that CC was right and I have contacted Thermamix or should I say Vorwerk. They asked for photos and straight away said that it is something to do with the bonding of the outer casings and is not a sealant. I liked the way they said that someone would call on me on monday with a "comfort box". They will take it and return it in 5 days. A very nice service. All I need to do now is to do the recipes I have planned and freeze them.

I love the idea of a comfort box. I wonder what will be in it?

Well Cookie, I suspect that the comfort box is for the comfort of the machine in travelling and not for me at all although I liked your prompt thought. :P

Oh how disappointing. I thought it was to comfort you while your machine was away. I was imaging all sorts of things.
