Post by: Eli_Munn on September 27, 2015, 11:42:41 pm
Hey guys,

I was just wondering, any experiences with Scanpan (http://www.matchbox.com.au/products/scanpan)?
I'm thinking to buy it, is it any good?

Thanks in advance. ;)

I've bought Scan Pans. I have a wok. I've even bought a frypan and a set of saucepans for a holiday home. My general opinion is that they are nothing special.

You can't use them for really hot temps regularly the nonstick will not work.  I have ruined am expensive scanpan this way and as I tend to use high heat a lot, they are not convenient for me. I do have the baking tray and am really happy with it.

I have several Scan Pan items and I love them. When I purchased them the saleswoman told me NOT to use spray oils on any non- stick pans(scan pan or other) because it creates a buildup on the surface and the non-stick capability loses it's thing.
She also said to use low smoking point oils like Rice Bran or Grape seed. I have never had an issue with mine.
