Title: New Challenge
Post by: cookie1 on August 15, 2015, 12:31:19 pm
After Katie made her Polenta Chips ( http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.26655) I thought it would be nice to have a new challenge. Judy and CC agreed.

Here is a new challenge for us all. Make and review something from an early thermomix book, eg Meat on the Menu, Seafood Bounty, A Taste of Vegetarian, Healthy Eating with Cyndi O'Meara, a Taste of Asia, Gluten Free Wheat Free cooking or any other I can't remember. Or perhaps one of the earlier calendars if you have them.
If you don't have any of these books make and review something from the EDC or the book you received when you purchased your thermomix.

I hope you enjoy looking for and trying some new recipes.
Judy and CC please add or subtract from the post if I have missed something. Thanks.

I've plenty of time to browse recipe books at the moment so I did just that after cookie posted this challenge.  I went for the Seafood Bounty book because there have not been many reviews from this book.

Looking for something simple for tea without having to go to the shop.  This recipe is from Travelling with Thermomix, Lover's Soup (carrot, ginger and orange juice).  Quick, simple and enjoyable.

Hi, I would like to have a go as I have just found my old book that came with the first Thermomix model I had. It was that orange one about 4 models ago. there must be something interesting in that.

I look forward to your contribution Dot.

I made the mistake of not checking to see if anyone had made this dessert (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=9889.0), I had checked everything else I'd made but slipped up on this one.

I've just gone through the TOV to find some recipes to make. It has reminded me of several I've made and taste delicious. Like the Caramelised Apple Risotto Pudding, Zucchini Cake and Date and Apple Brownies.
Now to find some new ones.

What is TOV please cookie ???

After Denise's reviews from the UK Demonstrator's Delight recipe booklet, I had a browse and decided to use my home grown spinach in a Spinach & Orange Soup (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=16688.0).  I misread the quantity and picked 750 g instead of the 250 g required for this recipe so then had to find something else to do with the leftovers.

The feta gave it that distinct "feta" flavour so very different to hummus.
