Title: Christmas comes next Tuesday!
Post by: schnitzel on September 02, 2009, 10:31:52 am
Hi Everyone,
My TM arrives next Tuesday-yes, I'm very excited! ;D
I'd like to thank all the forum members for their many many posts.  I've been a silent visitor here for a few weeks while waiting for my demonstration.  Everything I read helped me decide that the TM is definitely for me, plus I got quite a few laughs reading them.

Does anyone have any failsafe first recipe suggestions that a complete newbie can tackle?

Also I would appreciate any suggestions that come under the heading of 'the kids will scoff it down without complaining'.
I had to write a 'how to behave at the dinner table' social story which explained that when mum hears the words 'this is disgusting' it makes her angry.  Apparently merely yelling didn't get the point across.
Cheers to all,
Sandra

Welcome to the fray Schnitzel. I think the TM Vegetable stock is a good place to start, then for the kids what about a dip (served up with some carrot, celery sticks) or make a cake/biscuits from a TM converted recipe. Don't know how many rug rats you have, or food preferences, but the Rabbit (cum Chicken) Stew on this site is easy and yum, and of course the Mushroom Risotto is also a good starting point. The list is endless and enjoyable.

G'day Schnitzel,
awesome name, you don't have a sister name parma do you?
We got ours last friday, already found that different types of bread rolls are a winner with my boys, but my boys will eat anything and I do mean anything. Every morning since I got "Little Ripper" my boys have asked for porridge. They used to get it at morning anyway but now its so much easier I look forward to making it.

Merry Xmas - ho ho ho - sorry, can't say that.

Check the failsafe thread http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1095.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1095.0)

riv_mum (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?action=profile;u=173) is a demonstrator - best to contact her for ideas.

Thanks Beechy.  I got it off the movie 'Hoodwinked', which is pretty good as far as kid's movies goes, still watchable after 100 or so viewings.

Welcome Schnitzel....after my initial heart attack (to which I merely reminded myself that it would be Karma for posting a couple of weeks ago how many weeks it actually is to Christmas  :o :o)  I realised you were awaiting your machine! How exciting to have Christmas now and then again in a couple of months lol

Sorry about that!  Tuesday's 'Christmas' will no doubt be a lot less stressful than the real thing.  And now the real thing will be a lot less stressful too, hopefully....have checked out the festive recipes already...

Hi and welcome!
I think Ralo converted the Honey Soy Chicken Mini Drumsticks/Winglets recipe to Failsafe http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=891.15 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=891.15) This is a really yummy easy one that kids (and adults) all seem to enjoy.
