I thought of honey joys too Karen. I could just imagine them in the TMX.

Tastes good for me - I make 3 times the quantity and just heat it up as I need it. My first lot I cut the ginger slices too thick and it was a bit 'howdy doody' but now I do them thinner it is perfect.  Get well soon.

Oh yes I love it too and I am living on it at the moment  :-)) :-))  I make up a big batch too, and reheat it as needed and walk around the house with it in my thermal mug ;D ;D

mine is not a virus (good and bad) i have had sinusitis for 3 months and it just isn't budging no matter what natural or medicenal remedies i try :( so i'm not really sick, like a flu, but i am just soooo run down and tired constantly.

Karen,
I must have the same as you - doctors and medicine don't seem to fix it - haven't been able to do any demos for six weeks as the coughing just never lets up. Makes you very tired and hopefully when the warmer weather arrives here it will improve.

Karen my mum had the same thing and she got it year after year and the only thing that fixed it in the end a couple of years ago was a low dose of antibiotics for about 3 months. She didn't want to take them for that long but was so desperate in the end she did and it worked. Might be worth asking your doctor about. Get well soon, there is nothing worse than not feeling on top of the world.  :-*

Karen, I sympathise. :'( :'( I'm just getting over my annual bout of sinusitis. Next it will be hayfever season and then I'll be REALLY grumpy. >:( >:( Hang in there, I hope something works for you soon.

Thank goodness I only seem to get the sinusitis the once and a dose of antibiotics fix it. It makes you tired and the headaches are horrid, so you have all my sympathy.
I'm dreading spring and all the flowers, I've started on my rhinocort already and the telfast and polaramine are ready to go. I sort of walk round like a drugged up zombie for a while until the poor old body gets used to the drugs and develops enough antihistamines of its own. Too make it worse I love flowers in the house.

oh that's good. i am about to start my 5th course of antibiotics tomorrow (second type and i have a spare script for a third type as a backup). i'm also doing saline flushes, fess spray, dimetapp / rhinocort sprays and the chiro has been doing sinus draining massage for me. sooooooooooo over it.

now, back ON topic LOL i need a volunteer to make the recipe i'm planning on sending in - I made it yesterday but they came out quite dry and i'm not sure if it's my stupid oven or the recipe. it's a very simple recipe for a spiced honey cake. any volunteers? (preferably someone with a decent oven that cooks at the temp it's supposed to LOL)

I get hay fever and can sympathise with you both.  I will never forget being pregnant through an entire hay season and not being able to take anything (naturals meds were useless for me).  I was forever pulling over in the car and have to wait until it settled before continuing on.  I have my medicine cupboard stocked ready for the coming season (and no more babies on the way  ;D ;D ;D)!!!  :)

Don't you jinx me JD!!!  I went into a cold sweat when I read that Karen and Kathryn had both had surprises. Actually I would dearly love to adopt again from Ethiopia, but the current seven year wait is just too long.  My sister is due to have a baby in a couple of weeks so that is enough for me!!!  ;D ;D ;D

7 years to adopt ??? That's a long time to wait.  You have your 2 little boys though Chelsea and I'm sure they keep you on your toes.  ;) ;)

i accidentally put too many cloves in mine last weekend (had to grind my own) and they were only jsut edible - so we just crumbed them and mixed with cream cheese, rolled into balls and drizzled white choc over the top and voila, everyone loves them!

Well, well, well, what a surprise. Nice to get to the final 2 - good luck to you too Jo. I was only thinking about it the other day and wishing they'd hurry up and announce the final 2 so that I could then go ahead and put my curry on the forum. They did it for me  :o :o :o :o

Fantastic news.  Now we get to do the 'cook off' and vote.

When done Jo and Judy.  I actually made Jo's cake today and didn't even realise it was chosen in the finals!  I will put JD's curry on my menu plan for next week.  DH had just been diagnosed with a tummy ulcer and curry is on his no-no list, so I will have to make it super-mild  :'(.

No Cookie1, I just clicked on the link that Thermomixer posted on 21/0/09  in this thread.  I wish they would make it easier for us to follow, like posting it directly onto our forum for example instead of us having to search to find it. Now I think the recipes should be put onto the forum as not many people are going to find them where they are. Normally Thermomixer tells us but I remembered they were going to be a bit late announcing the winner this month, went looking and was surprised to find it had just been posted that morning.  Anyone know what the next comp is all about?
