Title: Beetroot, Pumpkin seed & Cheddar Bread
Post by: cookie1 on June 25, 2014, 12:32:38 pm
Lovely looking recipe mab.

Judy the Beetroot taste very similar. Perhaps not as strong. I decided that as I love making bread so much I should try for a Beetroot bread. I eventually found one. The next problem was what on earth would it taste like.
Here is the link to the recipe I used. http://britishfood.about.com/od/adrecipes/r/Beetroot-Pumpkin-Seed-And-Cheddar-Bread-Recipe.htm

I roasted the Beetroot and puréed it in the thermomix. I left it to cool. I then grated the cheese and set it aside. I put the water and yeast in at 37 for 2 minutes 30 seconds. I then added everything except the cheese and pepitas. I kneaded it for 4 minutes. Let it rise, knocked down and proceeded as for the original recipe. I used Laucke Bread Mix so didn't need to add the salt or sugar.

I made a half mix too, just in case it was awful.
The finished bread was really lovely and I will definitely be making it again.
