Title: Hello from Texas
Post by: Azure111 on May 27, 2014, 04:06:11 pm
Hello all from Texas, USA.

Just purchased a TM31.  Another thermomix user told me about this site and all the great recipes on it.   ;D

Thank you for the welcome.  I have made mashed potatos, various soups, steamed veggies, lemonade, orange juice, etc.  I also tried making the green chili bread that is featured in the cookbook that came with the machine but it didn't come out that well.

Hello Azure111, welcome to the forum.  This is certainly the place to be for good advice, great recipes and a good chat.  Have a look at this list of favourite recipes from our member Cream Puff, affectionately known as CP.  They are tried and tested recipes so a good place to start.

Welcome Azure.  Help your self to the recipes here,  just remember that the spoon and cup measurements are different if the recipe has been written by an Australian TMX person.   Have fun with your TMX.

I am not sure if she is a member, but she is another American thermomix user.

A warm welcome to the forum  Azure. Being aware of the different the different size measure is important as Chookie mentioned. I actually keep spoon measures in the different sizes. The Australian cup measurement is 250ml.
Have you tried many recipes from the forum? The Cheese and Chilli Bread is really lovely. We've had it several times. It keeps fresh well too, and freezes well.

Hello Azure111, welcome to the forum.  The Australian tsp is 5 ml, tablespoon is 20 ml.  Cream Puff's recipe list is a great place to start.  :)

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.  I am still reading through the forum and have yet to reply in any other section.   :)

Last night, I made gaucomole in the thermomix.  It came out quite a bit more creamy than I am used to but flavor was good!

When I bought my thermomix, I was worried I would not use it enough to justify the cost.  I end up using it 2-3 times a week though.  It is too bad that this awesome machine is not mainstream in the states.
