Hi all,
I'm so happy to make your acquaintance - I received my Thermomix last week and am so looking forward to getting to know my new best friend!
I LOVE cooking, but life has gotten in the way the last couple of years, so I have found that I've lost touch with one of my biggest sources of enjoyment.
I'm now living part time at my mother's (she has Alzheimer's so I'm helping my Dad to care for her) and still working nearly full time, so while I might have ordinarily baulked at the price since I'm generally quite a frugal soul, my situation has me viewing this purchase as an investment that will save me a lot of time and sanity over the next bit of life's journey.
I've lurked a week or so, and I'm heartened to see what a lovely bunch of people you are. I'm looking forward to making some new friends who are just as enthused as I am about exploring what this super-cool appliance can do.
Cheers!

Hi dustbunny, welcome to the forum. Best wishes to you and Dad with Mum's situation - he will need all the support he can get and I applaud you for what you are doing for them both. The Thermomix will certainly help you prepare good, healthy meals for your parents. You've picked up on how friendly and helpful this group is in just a week of browsing and you are dead right, it is an amazing place to hang out and make new friend whilst learning all you can about the TMX. Good luck to you all.

Welcome dustbunny it is lovely to have you join us. It is very good of you to help your Dad, I am sure he appreciates it. The thermomix will be a useful tool for you in this stage of your life.
Please feel free to join us at any time of the night or day. We have some lovely overseas members who are on when the Aussies are asleep.
Happy thermomixing.

Welcome dustbunny. Such a cute name...how did you come up with it? :)
-
Thank you all for the lovely welcomes!
Yes, I can't wait to get up to speed with the thermomix - Mum needs some good wholesome food to keep her going (and so do we)
BeeZeeBee, it was the last thing I crocheted (hope this link works) https://www.facebook.com/18785687242/photos/a.101807222242.89956.18785687242/10151975038617243/?type=1&theater
I had originally called it a zombie bunny but because it ended up looking so much like dryer lint, I changed it to dust bunny (and I like the play on words, too)
Art & craft... another one of my passions that I haven't had the time to do much of lately :)
Oh well, there'll be time enough for that one day...

Welcome dustbunny. Best of luck with your situation and I am sure the Thermomix will help you prepare some lovely meals.

I had to come and say HI to you dustbunny, as the subject line made me laugh out loud before I even read any further!
Good luck with the next chapter in your life, the Thermomix will make one part of it easier :)

Welcome to the forum Dustbunny. Great name.
-
Hello dustbunny. Love the name. Happy cooking xox
-
Cute bunny! Welcome to the forum. What are you planning to cook first? All the best with your parents.
-
Thank you lovely new friends for the welcome :)
(Oh, and for liking my art!)
What am I planning to cook first? Hmmm, I think pumpkin soup, since it's one thing that I know Mum will eat, and I can sneak cream and chia seeds into it because she needs to put on weight (but I don't - bit of a conflict there - gonna have to work on that one, but I am a sucker for cream nonetheless)
-
Hello, i am new too. Very inspirational startxxx i too baulked but went ahead anyway. Glad i did. Hope you enjoy your food journey and best of luck with the familyxxx

Thank you Laura and Thermocouture!

Hi and welcome
-
Hi and welcome Dust Bunny. I love your wee crocheted friend.
Have fun in the kitchen today ;D
-
Thank you Obbie and Jo :)
I feel like a cat with a tumble dryer. I'm spending an inordinate amount of time staring into a little round window.
My first lesson, don't peek too quickly just after chopping raw onions!

The same goes for Chillies ... in fact, don't even take a peep at the chillies, you will probably live to regret it!
-
Use a torch dustbunny - that way you can look in there from further back. Or take the lid off LOL - you have to scrape down the sides anyway.
-
Lol @ the chillies - some good advice, methinks!
A torch, ooh - great idea :)

Hi and welcome to the Forum. (I have to say that I might have a lot of your relatives living under my furniture at the moment. Tore a muscle lifting the Grandbaby so no vacuuming under there for a while). However I am sure that you will enjoy the forum and all the help you will receive here. So sorry to hear about your Mother - it is really hard to watch your parents go through this. No matter how old we are we always think that our parents will be there for us. Nice that you are able to be there for both of them now. I am sure that your Thermomix will help to make life a little easier.
-
Thank you for the welcome and the good wishes Denise, and I hope you heal up soon. I've never torn a muscle before but it sounds pretty painful! Grandbabies would be pretty hard to resist though :)
