While Ral was in hospital I would visit a Cafe in Bridge Rd called Fifty Acres. They had a chocolate chip and peanut biscuit. It was beautiful. It was about 6 cm round, with lumps of chopped peanuts and lots of small chocolate chips. The biscuit base was very buttery but not really shortbread as it held together well. They were flat and about 3/4 cm thick. I think they may have been rolled and then cut out as they were very even. They were crisp but not crumble.
I have searched recipes for 2 days and can't find any that would give this result. If a solution can be found, I am sure that many will benefit.

Chookie you are going to have to do some experimenting!
I don't know of a recipe like you describe but my favourite peanut cookie is from the British Larder

I'm sure you could add in Choc chips.
Good luck finding that perfect recipe. Have you thought about emailing the cafe and seeing if they will give it to you?

Do you have the WW's The Big Book of Beautiful Biscuits Chookie - maybe it is one from there slightly adapted. Pity you didn't get a picture of the biscuit to give us more of an idea of how it looks and be able to compare it to anything we find in our books.

Maybe your favourite choc chip cookie with peanuts added?

Should have but was too busy gobbling it up. Will look at WW. Good idea.
Snappy , thanks, pretty certain that there was no peanutbutter in it.

Thanks CC, these are looking pretty good although not quite the same. I am beginning to think it may have something to do with the egg in the mix. What do you think if I left the egg out? Might make 2 lots, one in and one out. Will report back. Have plenty of ' tasters' ready.

We really enjoyed THESE (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=14164.0) ones posted recently. Peanut, choc and a hint of spice. ;D
Does have an egg though.

My Gran used to make some that sound just like the ones you describe Chookie. They were from the NZ Edmunds Cookery Book. I have a copy I'll try to find it in the next few days for you :)

Jamberie, would be most grateful. Today i started to experiment and still don't think it is right. The mix tastes delicious., but they don't look the same. will keep trying.

First experiment. Taste right but don't look right. Should be more peanut and chocolate evident.

Lovely biscuit Chookie. My family would love me if I made that for them. Lots of chocolate and peanuts.

Think I might mix in 1/2 the peanuts and chips bad then press the rest on top. We will see.
