Help needed please everyone...
My DH has just informed me he is getting me a tablet for my birthday next month, and wants to know what size screen I eant. The main thing it will be used for (probably) is reading recipes off while I cook.
So what does anyone recommend and why? Thanx.

Hi Astarra, I use my iPad in the kitchen to read recipes while cooking. I use Snap Recipes to store recipes. Work out how you will use it and what features you would like. For example, will the screen stay on while you cook, or will it go off half way through a recipe .

That is a really hard question. I would probably say would depend on how "blind" you think you are. I have both sizes in iPad and probably tend to use my big one more for reading recipes and magazines, and my little one if I'm out and about and for taking pics and then uploading to the forum, facebook or emails etc. You can always enlarge the screen on the mini on the part where you are reading (as with any iThingy). Is it just for reading recipes or can you see yourself using it for other things?

Chookie you can adjust that so the screen does not go off by going to settings..general and adjusting the auto lock.

I have both sizes Astarra and to be honest I hardly ever use my original ipad since "someone" talked DH into buying me ipad mini. It is so convenient to keep in handbag and I use it on my kribbit in the kitchen for recipes too. I recommend the kribbit for either ipad and fantastic to use anywhere :)

I have the ipad mini and just enlarge the print when using the recipes. As MF mentioned the Kribbit is fantastic for holding the ipad on the bench, wouldn't be without it ;D

I bought the kids a 7" tablet for their birthdays, great size to take anywhere.

Thanx for all the replies, I have a smartphone which i take everywhere so as a general thing i doubt it would be used too much out of the house, I do sometimes use the phone for recipes but trying to keep place while juggling kids and cooking is not always the easiest on the smaller screen. :)

Thanks for the tip Gert I am always annoyed by the screen going off
