Title: Tuna Mornay Pasta Bake - Cooking for your baby and toddler
Post by: kmw on August 24, 2013, 11:57:10 am
I made this tonight for the whole family and it was enjoyed by my 1 year old, DH & I.

It is really simple to make including the cheesy béchamel sauce (on the same page of the book).  I chopped up finally some cauliflower as well as the peas in the recipe which my daughter loves but not her parents  :), so we were all good eating our veggies.  I have freeze what was left.

Definitely will becoming a regular and going forward I will add different veggies.

I forgot to take a picture :(

I was supposed to make this with leftover bechamel but forgot (so ended up throwing it out as don't know how long it lasts). Will definitely give it a go in the future. Love all the simple recipes in this book.

Glad all your family liked it kmw.

The book has been great & very easy. Starting to add more seasoning to meals or add it after.

Tasty you could have frozen the bechamel.  It only needs a bit of a whip with a wire whisk once thawed and added to something like this recipe it would have been fine.

I made this today with some leftover bechamel sauce I had frozen so didn't have the full quantity it needed. I was also missing peas and chives...so basically half the ingredients. Still it was pretty simple and good. We'll have to see what the littlies think of it soon.

My toddler daughter had it warm straight from the oven and didn't like the crunchy texture of the topping and spat it out.

However my 9 month older daughter was happy to eat this all mixed up for dinner.

I found it delicious too.

Made this tonight and added 4 smallish carrots, corn and a little caramelised onion as well as using spelt pasta so I could also eat it. Everyone loved it and hubby declared it good enough to be a regular. Very easy, yummy and a recipe that I would generally have everything on hand.

Have cooked a couple of recipes from this book now and all of them have been a success  :)
