Title: Help needed!! Burnt my Staub Pot! :-(
Post by: goldfish on July 24, 2013, 02:11:27 am
In one of my more senior than usual senior moments I've allowed some rice to boil dry and burn in my most treasured Staub (black interior)  I'm worried that if I start scrubbing it I'll ruin the finish . .I've soaked it but it's really stubborn.  I usually use bicarb (add to boiling water in the saucepan) and then scrub when a pot is burned - and it usually works.  Just scared to do that in this beautiful pot.

If anyone has any suggestions/recommendations I'd be very grateful!!

Wonder if there is anything in here (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/835801) that would help GF.

I have had really bad burnt pots ( says something about my cooking hey ) simmer water and bicarb, take off heat leave to soak for a few hours, tip out water and put it out in the sun for a day or two, usually the black flakes off  with minimal cleaning
