My big boy turns 5 next month and is having a train party. These are his last 3 cakes. I really have to go trains again (not the AWW one). I have the silicone mold but remember struggling to ice these. Ganache seemed to work well. I'm planning to trial magic bean cake in them this week.

Are there any other suggestions on how to ice/decorate these? Not sure if a sprinkle of sugar is enough.

I love those cakes. ILB Chocolate cake also makes a lovely birthday cake.
Is he past Thomas the Tank engine stage?
Perhaps an old fashioned steam train. You could probably find a photo to model it on on Google.

I've been browsing that one too. It's a party in the park so easy transport is going to be important.

Theres also a web site called " Craftsy", they have a lot of  decorated cakes there that might inspire. They are quite a big site with lots of different crafts.
