Hey there,
my name is Karen and I live in Melbourne's wonderful and wild west with my hubby, two grown up daughters (son has left home), my 4 year old grand daughter, two mad dogs, two equally mad cats and a cockatoo that has it's own psychological issues.
I saw the Thermomix on Mastechef, did quite a bit of googling which impressed me with the capability of this machine. Showed hubby a few videos and comments and he is very keen also on the machine (he is more a kitchen gadget person than I am, although I am into gadgets of every other kind).
Looking forward to getting to see a machine in action and to be able to purchase said beastie. Anything that makes meal times less of a trauma in a time poor household has got to be a good thing in my view.

Welcome sianon/jenna/Karen - LOL - I'm just down the road - in the wild, wild west of the greatest city in the universe.
Have you managed to contact a consultant? I believe there will be a class in Hoppers Crossing on August 4th.
Editted after reading in the fingerpaint section : I now see that, yes you have, and that you knew that !!!

Well hubby and I are off to a demonstration this afternoon, so hopefully we will have our machine within a few weeks. So far I have found this to be a friendly and informative site.

enjoy!

Just lulling you into a false sense of security - wait til you but the machine and then ...... ;) ;) ;) ;D. Only joking - you live too close !
-
Thermomixer, compared to that OTHER cooking forum, this is an absolute haven of sensible and grown up people :). Nice to know you are so close by if I should need any assistance :)

Well it is done, ordered the machine today. Hubby was very impressed as was I and I suspect that he may even be about to start to spend more time in the kitchen. On the way home he was talking about how how he would modify the sorbet recipe that Jane prepared as well as the bread rolls. He also asked "does this mean I will have a decent spaghetti sauce made" :)

This sounds very exciting. TMX seem to have very positive effects upon the male of the species!

At last - it looks like being on the Forum has finally helped JZ. ;) From little things ....
Congratulations Karen - if you don't love it - please blame Masterchef ;D ;D ;D

Ohh Thermomixer, I cannot accept that there is any chance that I will not love this machine. As I said to Jane today, I was pretty much sold on the machine already, the demo simply strengthened that feeling. Anything that will reduce my households reliance on pre-prepared food s can only be for the good. Hubby's fascination is an absolute and expected bonus, he has always been much more into kitchen gadgets than I have been.
After seeing the demo, I strongly suspect that I will reduce my reliance on the cafe next door to work, and that can only be cheaper and better for me.
Also conducted a little google activity in regard to Cyndi Omeara and what she has to say sounds pretty reasonable. mmmmm maybe some big changes in food intake and what is permitted into this household are about to occur.

Karen, I am so excited to read that DH was more effusive during the drive home than during the demonstration!! I am sure he will find excuses to use it & your DD will be prising it off him!! ;)
I also want to thank all the wonderful contributors to this forum, everyone is so welcoming & friendly that the intrepid searchers for information on the Thermomix are eased in their decision making process after spending a little time here. :-* :-* :-* to all of you!!

Yea, he is a little understated in his enthusiasm :). We were out with friends today and showed them the pamphlet, and while our friend (who is an engineer, Noel is an ex maintenance fitter) was reading the information, Noel is, "and it has a magnetic motor", Knew he was taking it in yesterday. So then they started discussing that aspect.
