Many of you are aware I am coming to Australia in August to attend the Forum Fest 2013 Fun.
To mark this auspicious occasion there will be a competition to celebrate my visit to your wonderful country. The prize will be a new copy of the UK Thermomix book called "I Love Chocolate,I Love Thermomix" donated by me.
The competition is only open to Australian resident forum members (including Tasmania) to say "Thank you" for welcoming me to your country.
No comments are to be made on this thread, they will be deleted if postings do not follow the guidelines.
There are certain rules for this competition, please read them carefully and then post an entry.
1) Limit of 1 entry per person.
2) Only members with a minimum of 30 postings as of 1/7/13 are eligible to enter and should be a resident of Australia or Tasmania.
3) To post an entry, please tell the forum your favourite dessert recipe and why? Then give yourself a number.(Funny stories greatly appreciated ;D)
eg 'My favourite dessert is Chocolate Mousse because it's the only thing I can make better than my mother-in-law!' I am number 12.
4) The competition closes on the 15th July 2013 and the winners will be drawn by MM as soon as possible thereafter.
5) The winner must cook a recipe from the book and review it.
I will be bringing the book in my luggage and will post it to the winner ASAP when I reach Australian shores.
I hope you have fun with this.
xx CC.

Oh what the heck, I will be first.
My favourite dessert would have to be Golden Syrup Dumplings. It is something my Mum made often, especially when she was rushed for time. I have also made them frequently when we have unexpected guests as they can be made from ingredients you always have. So quick and easy.
Sorry no funny story.
I am number 1.
-
My favourite desert is Australian Sparkling Wine but my favourite Chocolate Desert is Stout Chocolate Cake and that is why I am so stout and why my favourite desert is now bubbles.
I am most certainly number 1 2 I was mean and beat Gert to it. She said I had faster fingers. ;) Cookie1

My Favorite is a lemon / lime cheesecake.
Because I always have heaps of lemon and lime juice, and its so quick to make. :)
I am No. 3.
-
My favorite dessert is apple crumble, well actually my oldest sons, he expects it for his birthday dinner ever year, I have been making this for him since he was very young and he is in his 30's now.
I'm number 4
-
My favourite dessert is Pavlova. I've been making it for many, many years now.
I first started making it as a newly wed and couldn't cook but as it was my husbands favourite I wanted to perfect it. For almost a year I made it from the "pavlova egg" ;D and thought I was a domestic goddess.
Eventually I started cooking it from scratch with some very hit and miss efforts. It still makes me smile to remember DH trying to eat a piece even when it was less than edible. :D
I am number 5
-
My favorite dessert would be farfallina chocolate souffle, my DH doesn't do desserts but will always request this one, which I don't mind as I love anything chocolate :D
I am number 6
-
My favourite dessert would be the Swedish Ice Cream Cheese Cake. This dessert is a great standby to have in the freezer for those unexpected times. This dessert is so easy even I can't mess it up, so far. ;D
I am number 7
Marie

OK< my favourite dessert would have to be lemon cheesecake because....well...it is quick, easy and yum! And my DH and DDs love it too. I am number 8
-
My Favorite of all time is Cream Puffs.
I love the crispy choux pastry and bite into it for a gooey surprise. My favourite favourites are the profiteroles with toffee top, and creme patisserie centre...mmmnn
I am No. 9
-
My favourite dessert is without a doubt the simple Butter Cake. Just a few ordinary ingredients, and yet it results in magic. From the tantalising aroma to that satisfying first bite.
All my boys share my love for it, especially my littlest man Jeremy. It was such a pleasure to see the wonder in his eyes when he took the first look at his 4th birthday cake - he was crazy over Thomas the Tank Engine then! All the birthday cakes after that were Butter Cakes :)

I am number 10.
-
My favourite dessert would be a butterscotch self saucing pudding. Crisp and crunchy on top, light and fluffy in the middle and gooey goodness underneath. Yummmm (might tackle it tonight).
I think this is a throw back to the dinners with my nanna as a child. More memorable than salmon squished on toast with tin beetroot but not quite as memorable as the day she forgot the lemonade in the freezer. It defrosted under the clothesline and shot up out of the bottle like a volcano.
I am number 11.
-
My favourite dessert is sticky date pudding. DH and I would often share one when out for dinner in the early dating years. He would always joke after that he has a sticky date! ;) I have heard the joke many times over many years....and I still giggle with him :D
I am number 12
-
no 13.
sticky date pudding, the whole family love it and there is never any leftovers ;)
thanks CC. your a sweety ;D
-
mine would have to be Spanish rice pudding very easy and tastes just like mum's ;D
I am number 14
-
My favourite dessert to make is a soufflé (either raspberry or passionfruit). I love that feeling when you open the oven and it's actually worked!
It's one of my DH's favourite desserts to eat, so that is a bonus ;D
I'm number 15
-
My favourite dessert is lemon meringue pie. I just love the crisp crumbly base with the tart, lemony middle and the fluffy clouds of sweet meringue on top!
I am number 16
PS: THANK YOU to CC!
-
My favourite dessert is Panna Cotta because it's easy to make and everyone loves it. I am no 17
Thank you CC. Looking forward to meeting up with you.
-
My favourite dessert is chocolate caramel hazelnut tart. Chocolate and caramel melt in your melt with crunch from the hazelnuts and base. It is delish and the reason I haven't made it in thermie is because I have no self control and would end up eating the lot. If I won the book though, my friends and family (along with me) would personally thank you!
I'm number 18.
What an awesome competition!
-
My favourite is the Golden Syrup cake which when made in a small cupcake pan transforms into a delectable Golden Syrup pudding - served warm with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream. One recipe...mixed in the TMX for one minute...two different results. Both absolutely delicious.
And I am Number 19!
-
My favourite dessert is custard.
Lemon custard, egg custard, chocolate custard, all custard. I especially like the fact that because it has eggs in it, it can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and dinner ;D
I am number 20
[modified as I forget to mention my number]
-
Ooh this is difficult as I'm a real sweet tooth. I love anything with custard, and since I've had thermie, real egg custard is a doddle. Not to mention how delicious it is with some dark Haighs chocolate stirred through.....
Mmmmm I was thinking of funnyfarm2's vanilla slice with no cream, but there was the time that I forgot to add the butter and the custard was like rubber. Fortunately, I was able to save it by grating the butter in at the end, but for a while there, I thought that I was going to end up in my own funny farm.
I'm pretty fond of Cp's cream puffs filled with custard, but my absolute favourite would have to be Chookie's Portuguese Custard tarts. The pastry is crisp and the custard is to die for. Every time I take them somewhere they disappear quick smart.

I am a slow typist, so I am number 21
-
My favourite (among many others, mind you!! ;D) would be the Lemon Pudding Surprise Cake - or perhaps better known as the Lemon Delicious!! In the past I've felt very smug about the fact that the egg whites performed beautifully - all white and fluffy and gorgeous - until last time! I'll swear the bowl was spotlessly clean and grease free. . . a big however!! >:(. T'was finally rescued by "other means" :-)) ???
I am number 22
-
My favourite dessert is Quirky Cooking Raw Vegan chocolate mousse. I love being able to eat something so amazingly delicious without the guilt!
I am number 23
Thanks! :)
-
My favourite is cheesecake. It love the baked variety, but any cheesecake will work for me ;D
I am number 24.
-
My favourite dessert is Tiramisu & chocolate profiteroles ;D
I,am number 25

I am having big problems with this. !!!

I am number 26.

This (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3036.0) tart (made with lemon and without the glaze) is a favourite with family and friends alike, and is often requested for get togethers.
I first made it for a Christmas party, and of course, being dessert, it was not eaten sober, so to speak. I was caught in a running argument with the host, who does not usually eat sweet things but loved this, who kept insisting on calling it a cheesecake. I kept correcting him that it was in fact a tart. You can probably see where this was going. The rest of the evening was punctuated by him mumbling "cheesecake!" To which I would exclaim "Tart!" Yes, things degenerated further and it is now referred to as "That whore cake" :-))
Particularly entertaining for said host when I arrive carrying this dessert, accompanied by DH, and he can shout out "Great! I see you've brought the tasty whore!" Then he disappears, leaving us to try to explain to any guests who are not in on the joke!! ;D
I am an embarrassed number 27.
Sue :)

My favourite desert is ice cream....any flavour will do so long as it isn't rum and raisin (I still have an aversion to anything tasting of rum after a misspent youth!).
I am number 28.
-
I lurve Kahlua mini puddings, with lashings of custard :-*

My favourite dessert is a steamed pudding called "Urney Pudding". This recipe was passed to my mother by her MIL. Each of us kids took a copy of the recipe when we left home and so did my children. I have made copies and put them in a recipe folder called "Family Favourites" that I did for each of my 4 eldest grandchildren for Christmas last year. A true family heirloom.
I am number 30.
-

I'm off to eat breakfast :D
Kathryn you forgot your number. You are No. 33 JD
Thank you JD :-* :-* :-*

I mean, why make my own when everyone else on here is making them.
I'll bring my spoon and platter and line up....

And looking like the side of a shed by the time I've sampled everyone's desserts ;D

Can't decide between, panna cotta, creme brûlée or cheesecake. Oh and sticky date pudding what a dilemma?
i will keep it simple and choose a delicious creme brûlée :D
I am 35. ( I wish!!) LOL
