Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has tried making two omlettes at once using both the top and bottom tray in the varoma? I'm not sure if this would work or not?
Made an awesome omlette this morning for breakfast but was thinking it would be great if I could make one for hubby and one for me at the same time :-)
-
Di, I don't think it would work because the omelette covers all the holes of the tray, so that would prevent the steam getting to the top omelette.

You could always add more eggs to make one bigger (thicker) omelette, then you could have half each?
-
Thanks Amy :-) I thought that might be the case - I'm trying out the thicker one tonight for dinner with the hubby, enjoyed my breakfast omlette so much!!
-
Good luck Di, let me know how you go :D

I agree with Amy but what about trying 2 omelettes side by side. That is if you want different fillings do them side by side. They would take longer to cook though.

be still my beating heart! that I will be trying for lunch on monday.
tomorrow hopefully I will not be going anywhere near the kitchen.

Omelette, frittata - almost the same. Check this (http://thermomix-er.blogspot.com.au/2009/04/frittata-in-varoma.html) blog out LBOT

Yes, that method in the link judydawn posted is how I made mine, they came out beautifully. When I did them for 1 I used two eggs, 30g cheddar cheese, a bit of coriander and salt and pepper. I used the bottom part of varoma for this as it seems smaller. When I made a bigger one for hubby and me I used 6 eggs, about 60g cheese, some coriander and salt and pepper, and used the top layer of varoma. I steamed peas, corn and snow peas in the bottom at the same time and it made a nice light meal :-)
Good idea about putting different toppings on different sides cookie1 - think I I'll try that next time as hubby would love some ham on his, and I wouldn't mind some mushroom on mine :-)

wow, I never knew you could make a frittata or omelette in the varoma, I can't wait to try it!!

For two omlettes (you would maybe end up with a strange shape), why not try putting two pieces of baking paper side by side and making one omlette in each? I haven't tried this, but it might work.
