I don't know if this should be posted in the IT section . . . but . . . .
for the past few days, when I've gone to the last page of certain threads such as What's for Dinner , What are you doing . . etc. this is what pops up on the screen - Ive tried a screen shot but you couldn't really read it. This is photo of the screen and I hope it'll be a little clearer.
Has anyone else had this happen? It doesn't happen when I'm on Tapatalk on the iphone - just on the PC

I've just run spybot . .fixed whatever problems that came up with. Just tried to click on "Whats for Dinner Tonight" and bingo , , screen turned red again!! But I can still access it without any problem on tapatalk on the iphone . .
-
Yesterday I clicked on a link that Cornish Cream had posted and it came up with a Malware warning and wouldn't let me proceed to open it. It hadn't happened to me before. Malware is our anti-virus program for anyone wondering.
-
Chelsea - can you remember what that link was . . . without actually posting it?

Apparently Chelsea got a warning on the link I posted to my recipe Chocolate Fudge Cake like jmc296. I've now removed the link.
-
I wonder if that will fix GF's problems too.
-
Afraid not, Cookie - just tried clicking on the What's for dinner tonight thread . . and up it came again . . .
-
Could it just be your pc GF as none of us seem to have the problem?
-
Could be Judy ... It's just that particular thread ....what's for dinner tonight....a bit tired now but in the morning I'll check the thread using tapatalk and see if I've clicked on any links that might have started something..
-
I'm getting it too. I thought it was Google Chrome creating it. The message said that there was information from thedishforum.com, a known suspect for Malware.
I got it when trying to open anything in the breads section.

Hello to all
This is an odd situation. I tried to access the forum using Firefox, no problem there, use it via chrome, no problem there unless I visit the topic reported by goldfish.
Did a search and could not see any reference to the URL that was mentioned in that topic.
Since our ads are google, I'm finding this strange but the problem can come from a URL in an ad.
I will try to find with google/chrome the reason for this.

Thanks Admin! Appreciate your looking into this . . .
I just tried opening a Whats for Dinner Tonight post and the same thing happened - got the warning and then lost the forum . . . and I'm using chrome . . . . :-))
MJ - sorry you've been experiencing this, too!! It doesn't seem to affect me in Breads, just in the dinner tonight thread . . . fascinating stuff! >:(
-
GF, so glad that is not in Breads. :D
-
Nothing here
-
Think it must be a google chrome thingy . . . it's still happening when I click on someone's post in the Whats for Dinner . . . :-))
Safari on the iphone is not a problem! :D
-
If I didn't find it scarey I would find it interesting. I just don't understand computers/ iPads and similar things.
-
well, just as I was thinking it was "safe to go back into the water" . . it's still there. So far just on that one thread, What's for Dinner Tonight. I'm becoming convinced it's a chrome problem - others such as Safari - no problem. Not scary any more - just downright annoying!! ??? >:(
-
Poor you.

Thanks CC. I couldn't remember what thread I was reading at the time. :)
-
If you click on 'Avanced' in the warning, you can carry on to the site. Since I've done that, it's never come up again.
-
Thanks MJ - will try that . . . it's still sending up the warning when I try to open a post on Whats for Dinner . . and then I lose the forum altogether . . .
-
Further investigation and I come to a dead end. :(
I could find any content related with the site in question. In fact chrome "told me" that they warned the site in question, but I could not find any evidence of problems in our forum.
Maybe they were just be over cautious about his one.
I will try to see if anything pops under my radar. :)
-
Thanks for that Admin. :-*
-
That thread still brings up the warning on the PC. . . have decided for now that if I want to open that thread I'll do it on tapatalk on the iphone. Not the world's greatest problem but it would be nice to know why it's happening . . . ;D
Thanks, Admin, for taking all that trouble to check things out . . . :D
